Alastair Seeley has relinquished top spot in the British Supersport series after a disappointing weekend at Donington Park.

The Carrickfergus rider was ninth in Saturday's sprint race before finishing eighth in the feature race on Sunday.

Stuart Easton is eight points clear of Seeley after a win and second place.

Glenn Irwin failed to finish on Sunday after coming eighth in the Supersport opener while Fermanagh's Lee Johnston was seventh in the Superstock race.

Seeley has won six races so far this season and is aiming to win the Supersport championship for the second time in his career.

However, he has secured just 23 points in the last two rounds compared to Easton's 78.

Easton was second to Billy McConnell in the sprint race before moving into the lead in the championship with a victory on Sunday.
