Darragh O'Hanlon scored Kilcoo's goal from a second-half penalty

Down champions Kilcoo's dominant second-half display sealed a six-point win over Glenswilly of Donegal in the Ulster club quarter-finals.

The key moment came when Glenswilly's Cathal Gallagher got a deserved straight red for a high challenge on Conor Laverty which brought a penalty.

Kilcoo had been trailing at that stage but Darragh O'Hanlon scored the penalty and the Down men never looked back.

The Down men will play Armagh side Maghery in the 13 November semi-finals.

Kilcoo, who beat Scotstown 1-8 to 0-9 in the preliminary round, had looked in trouble when a Michael Murphy penalty gave the Donegal side a 1-4 to 0-6 interval advantage.

A fisted score by Ryan Johnston - his third point of the game - levelled matters soon after the restart, only for Murphy and Oisin Crawford to put Glenswilly two up.

Kilcoo responded with a Paul Devlin free and then came Gallagher's dismissal and the O'Hanlon penalty which put the Down men into a lead they would never surrender.

Laverty, Donal Kane, Devlin and keeper Stephen Kane added scores as Glenswilly wilted.
