What a performance from Kimberley Woods!

The smile on her face as she waves to the crowd after crossing the line tells you everything.

Woods has had to overcome so much adversity in her life and career, and her Olympic debut in Tokyo ended in tears.

But the world kayak cross champion has announced herself as a serious contender here, producing a clean run and clocking a so for unmatched 99.87 seconds.

She is safely through to the final, which starts at 16:45 BST.

    Good news for Dan Evans.

He’s looking much more comfortable out here and has broken in the decider.

Something has broken… the electronic scoreboard. It’s been on the blink all day.

But I can tell you he is 5-2 ahead in the decider and set to move into round two.

Then he serves out to clinch a rollercoaster win.

Now it’s time to find out how he is physically. Andy Murray will also be very interested…

    • Pollution in the River Seine forced the cancellation of Sunday's proposed swimming training for Olympic triathletes.
    • Britain's 2023 world champion Matt Richards and eam-mate Duncan Scott progressed to tonight's semi-finals of the men's 200m freestyle swimming.

I've just spotted both Evie Richards and Ella Maclean-Howell as they reunited with their coaches and teams, and they both genuinely looked so happy. There may be no British medals but what an afternoon it has been here.

They were both heading to speak to BBC Sport's Jill Douglas so we'll hear what they have to say very shortly.

The Japanese are the ones to watch in this event. Of the top 10 female skaters in the world, Japanese skaters occupy six of those positions.

But, just three athletes from each nation can qualify for the Olympics which means that a few big names have missed out for Team Japan.

In Tokyo, Japanese skaters won three of the four gold medals on offer and no one would be surprised if they manage a similar achievement here with all three of their skaters qualifying for the final in this women's street event.

Goodness me. It’s tough work out there!

The athletes want to be as quick as possible, but the momentum they gain makes the sharp turns required to get through the gates all the more difficult.

I’m in awe of the power they’re having to produce, especially when they reach upstream gates which force them to fight the current head-on.

I’m not sure I’d back myself to fight back through one of them, never mind several!

Right in front of us here, gates 12, 14 and 17 are all upstream and, as the boats come to almost a complete stop, the crowd take the opportunity to rally behind them - and what a noise they are making too.

That's a much stronger second-half display from Great Britain and they win the first women's sevens match of Paris 2024.

Second-half tries from veteran winger Jasmine Joyce and captain Emma Uren enable GB to overturn a 12-7 half-time deficit.

Job done - time for a rest before their second pool game against 2016 Olympic champions Australia at 18:30 BST.

Britain’s Dan Evans is back playing in his first-round match against Tunisia’s Moez Echargui.

    That’s the good news.

The bad news is he looks uncomfortable and is toiling out here in the Parisian heat.

After falling and injuring himself, Evans lost the second set after being a break up.

The decider is still on serve.

Remember, he plays with Andy Murray later in what will be the final professional tournament of the iconic Scot’s illustrious career.

Meanwhile, Katie Boulter is playing next door and clawed back a 5-2 deficit in the first set against Slovakia’s Anna Karolina Schmiedlova.

But, serving at 4-5, she was broken and has lost the opener.

She immediately rushes over to her family to celebrate, before lifting her bike in the air.

Five world titles but she'd never before won an Olympic medal. That's all changed now.

A clearly emotional Ferrand-Prevot then raises her bike into the air in celebration. What a performance. She has utterly dominated this race, finishing two minutes and 57 seconds clear of USA's Haley Batten, who takes silver.

Jenny Rissveds of Sweden crosses the line third to take bronze, with Team GB's Evie Richards coming home a very respectable fifth.
