    China have levelled it up.

This game has gone to four set points a piece. Victory was within sight for South Korea, but it wasn't taken.

Now there will be a three arrow shoot-off for the Olympic title...

    There it is. The finish.

The next time our K1 finalists cross that line, they may have just secured themselves an Olympic medal.

Three years ago in Tokyo, Kimberley Woods could not produce the final performance she wanted or needed.

Now a world champion, and off the back of a very impressive semi-final run, can she force her way on to the podium?

The party hasn’t stopped here all afternoon and the crowd are bouncing as the tunes keep flowing (sorry).

There’s a very energetic French bloke with a megaphone getting everyone very excited with just moments until our first finalist begins their medal bid.

Drama! South Korea have the chance to claim the gold - all they need is a nine or a 10.

But it hits the red ring closest to the centre for eight points. China go level.

    We're going to a shoot-off.

When you think of basketball at the Olympics, it is impossible to not remember the USA team of 1992.

The Barcelona Games was the first time professional players were allowed to compete and their team consisted of the likes of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird - to name just a few.

At the time, Jordan and Pippen had only won the league twice and it was not until after their Games debut that many of that team went on to write their own story.

But it is no wonder that they went on to be nicknamed "The Dream Team" when they dominated the 1992 Olympics with an average margin of victory of 44 points to win gold.

Since then we have seen some of the best NBA stars represent the USA, including LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.

But could their 2024 squad be even better?

Beyonce's Crazy in Love booms out at the changeover after Nadal breaks for a 3-2 lead in the decider, with the camera panning on one fan extravagantly dancing in her seat like she's in Arthur Ashe Stadium.

It shows us this: the Chatrier crowd are extremely pleased that the King of Clay is heading towards victory in his very own palace.

The Japanese commentators are sat next to me and are absolutely LOVING what they are seeing here. A huge statement run from Liz Akama shoots her to the top of the table with a best-run score of 89.26.

Compatriot Coco Yoshizawa is behind her with 86.80 and Funa Nakayama rounds off the top three with 79.77.

Now onto the trick section, will we see something big here to put another name in the mix?

In the preliminaries, American Poe Pinson nailed a huge trick to catapult her into this final, can any of these skaters pull off something similar to put themselves among the medals?

By the way forget what I said earlier, it's absolutely scorching once again here.

Is that the pivotal game of this match? Rafael Nadal could not take two chances in the third game of this deciding set, had to save three break points in the next game, but now has a break of serve advantage after breaking the Marton Fucsovics serve in game five.

Nadal is three holds of serve away from making it into round two, where he may face Novak Djokovic in what would've been a worthy final.

In between games five and six, Nadal calls out a trainer, who frantically applies some tape to the injured Nadal fingers, but the Spaniard is OK to carry on.

It's looking very good indeed for South Korea, who have won the first two sets and lead by four points.

You get two points for winning a set, one point for a draw, and no points for a defeat. The winner is the first team to reach five set points.

The first two sets go the way of South Korea against China.

The fascinating thing about this Korea team is that they were right up against it against Chinese Taipei in their first match and arguably should've been four sets down.

They were also taken to a shootout by the Netherlands, so they have worked hard to get to this point and really started well in this gold medal match.

We're in a deciding set in the match between Spain's Rafael Nadal and Murton Fucsovics of Hungary.

It's been a hard-fought set so far, with Nadal failing to take two break points in game three, but then having to save three himself in the next game. We're still on serve in the decider, but only just.

At a changeover, Nadal slightly hitches his shorts up as he fiddles with the heavy strapping on his right thigh.

One man who will take advantage of any fitness issues for the Spaniard is Fucsovics.

The man is a machine. The Hungarian Ivan Drago. A muscular body harder than a frozen hanging cow.

    Nadal hanging tough, though.

French gold medallist Pauline Ferrand-Prevot speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "On the bike I was feeling like a robot. I had no emotion, I was so focused I did not hear anyone, even the coaches, I didn't really hear what they were saying.

"When I crossed the finish line I said, 'Wow ok what's happening now?' And now I have the medal and it just became real. I have so much emotion, it is a bit crazy. I think I held back all the emotion and now I think it will come out. I think I am going to cry a lot tonight!"

On winning her first Olympic medal at home in France: " If I had to win one Olympic title it is better to win it here in France. It was the goal of my life and career to have this Olympic title. I worked so hard for it, and it is just unbelievable. I put everything into being ready for that day and I did it. Wow, crazy."

Team GB mountain biker Evie Richards finished fifth as French favourite Pauline Ferrand-Prevot won a long-awaited cross-country Olympic gold.

On the former quarry site of Elancourt Hill, the highest point in the Paris region, 2021 world champion Richards finished 25 seconds shy of the podium.

For Ferrand-Prevot, gold on home soil marked the perfect ending to her mountain bike career.

The 32-year-old is set to retire from the discipline at the end of the year in order to switch her focus to the road.

A five-time cross-country world champion and therefore the most successful female athlete in the sport, Olympic success had eluded her across three previous Games.

Here we go then, it's final time.

As was expected it's dominated by the Japanese. They have three skaters in this final of eight with two of them - Liz Akama and Coco Yoshizawa - qualifying in the top two.

Other big names in the field are 14-year-old Australian Chloe Covell and Brazilian Rayssa Leal, who has huge support here at La Concorde.

The blazing sun that was out earlier in the preliminaries has gone away and we're left with a lovely warm evening with a bit of a breeze.

The riders get two 45-second runs to showcase their skills with the best score taken. Then, they will have five goes at their best trick with the best two scores taken. The two totals are added together to give an overall aggregate.

    Game on.

It didn’t quite happen for Jessica Fox there and one of the favourites for gold qualifies in eighth position.

That means Kimberley Woods places third in the semi-finals and the Briton is absolutely in this medal fight!

Helen Reeves, Britain’s only previous Olympic medallist in the women’s K1 in Athens 20 years ago and sat beside me here in the BBC commentary positions, certainly approves.

The finalists have less than an hour to recover before returning to the water.

Given the seats here are all completely exposed to the sun (not complaining, please stay nice weather), the water almost looks an inviting place to cool off - although on second thoughts, I can’t imagine that’d be a relaxing experience.

I have been ringing and searching and speaking to colleagues I know in the triathlon world and there is still confidence that it will indeed be a triathlon, it is whether we get the familiarisation swim or not.

That could be key to the race because in the Seine the currents, particularly in the middle, are very strong, and that is where the triathletes will want to get in and have sighting of the line. It will impact how they approach it.
