    Here come Thailand.

Around 10,500 athletes have competed at Paris 2024 but not all are going to be present tonight with some who competed earlier in the Games heading home and others already moving on to prepare for other sporting events.

That's probably for the best as it's starting to look very tight in certain areas out on the covered pitch at Stade de France.

Reflecting on the last 16 days It isn’t one moment but a collective appreciation. I have loved that GB have won medals in such a variety of sports so the real win I think is the number of new fans Team GB have inspired in lesser know sports like sport climbing, shooting, artistic swimming, kite sailing! Love it.

Samantha, very happy in Hampshire (bring on the Paralympics!)

Gabriela and Elisabeth have not only cheered Mexican victories

One of the special things about the Olympics is the bonds you form, a pair of Mexican fans have been telling me out and about in Paris.

“We cheer for our continent,” said Gabriela, who celebrated victories for Guatemala and Brazil over the last two weeks.

“Latin Americans support each other because we are like the underdogs,” said her companion, Elisabeth.

So, will they make the relatively short journey to Los Angeles for the 2028 Games, too?

Both sounded sceptical, citing visa issues and the sometimes strained Mexican-American political relationship.

    My moment of the Games

    BBC Sport reporter

Simone Biles, individual all around. Watching the most decorated gymnast of all time.

She continues to push the boundaries for what is possible. Her third Olympic Games and now with 11 medals, the power, skill and composure she possesses when the pressure is on is just awe-inspiring. After a disappointing Tokyo where she got the twisties, she showed it was possible to conquer her fears.

As a black woman, who has changed the game for how athletes approach mental health, and who stood-up against abuse to make sure young women feel safe, she is so much more than just an athlete. She transcends sport.

We're getting through the alphabet now as Portugal emerge and we have a new leader when it comes to attire.

That is a very bold choice of polo shirt but one I can get on board with.

This is what we missed I think in the Opening Ceremony.

It was a brave decision to take all of these athletes down the Seine and it was a wonderful spectacle but we do miss the close-up joy on the faces of these athletes and we're seeing it tonight.

It seems I'm not the only one admiring what Canada have to offer.

They seem to have been surrounded by a couple of other nations as they get a close up view of the dancing.

I'm not sure how Canada got on in the Breaking but they may have missed a trick.

  10. 'Greatest moment of Djokovic's sporting life'published at 20:32 British Summer Time 11 August

    My moment of the Games

    Sam Smith
Former British number one tennis player

Roland Garros and the men’s singles final. After Novak Djokovic had won, he put his bags down and went to thank the crowd. He then fell to his knees and cried on the court.

That was an incredibly powerful moment. And then not long afterwards, Carlos Alcarez, the runner-up, he was being interviewed by another top Spanish player on the court and he just burst into tears and had to be comforted.

That was a wonderful moment because when I played back in 1992, it was only the second time tennis had been in the Olympics since a very long gap – 1924.

There was a little bit 'should it be in the Olympics', is it the pinnacle of the sport? That has lingered on, but after this year’s final Djokovic said 'this was the greatest moment of his sporting life'.

That was a very important moment for tennis at the Olympics.

T for Taiwan: Jimmy (L) enjoyed sampling some different food

Yesterday, I hit the streets of Paris’s Montmartre district to find out what sport fans from around the globe had thought of the Games.

Jimmy from Taiwan told me that the food had proven a shock, since the dairy-rich French fare was “pretty different” to what was available in Taipei.

He remarked on the high prices and high number of potatoes. “But I love potato, so it’s fine!”

Will he go to the next Games in Los Angeles? It’s a resounding yes – Jimmy said he wanted to be a volunteer.

He said he had been impressed with all the turquoise-clad stewards who’d helped visitors like him to “figure out their problems”.

It really is bouncing in the Stade de France now.

This portion of the closing ceremony isn't the most exciting - lot's of waving and walking.

I'm still waiting for someone to beat the dance moves we saw from Canada.

    My moment of the Games

    Katie Smith
    BBC reporter

I loved seeing 51 year old Andy MacDonald competing on his Olympic debut in the skateboarding, alongside competitors who weren't even born when he began.

The boundless joy he brought to the event and the moment was such a brilliant reminder that it's not only medals that are a cause for celebration... and perhaps slim hope (for me) that an Olympic journey can start at any age.

    My moment of the Games

    Tim Warwood
    BBC Sport reporter

How are you making me pick one moment from these Games?

There’s too many; the French lockout podium in the men’s BMX race, Kieran Reilly silver in freestyle, Yutos Last trick AGAIN in skate street.

All the action sports once again delivered, but for me seeing Toby Roberts claim gold in sport climbing. His face, the surprise, the shock - what a moment! Pure sporting drama! Loved it.

Athletes parade with flags into the Stade de France

Here they come, then: the athletes emerge with their flags and suddenly the decibels ratchet up in the Stade de France.

There's an informality to the way they all spill into the stadium - compared with that more stately boat procession that we saw during the Olympic curtain-raiser a couple of weeks ago.

Right, the flag bearers are out and now it's time for the medallists to take the stage.

As you'd expect, some very excitable characters.

Canada so far getting my gold medal for dance moves and not a bad tracksuit either.

Carlos Yulo became just the second athlete from the Philippines to win an Olympic medal when he took two golds in gymnastics.

He's carrying the flag for his country.

As a result of his achievements in Paris, he has been given a house and other financial rewards by the government.

We've also heard a company has offered up a lifetime supply of ramen!

I need to start practicing my pommel horse.
