    Big smiles and a wave to the crowd for Maxime Grousset as he walks off after his men's 50m freestyle semi-final.

    He finished third - which, with another group to come, should be enough for a place in the final.

    As a side note, there is a truly incredible amount of splashing that goes on in a freestyle. Water all over the show, and yet somehow the swimmers look so effortless as they glide through. Not that I'm jealous.

    You can see with the Americans, they've grown up together, they've roomed together. You can see how comfortable they are on court. Maybe their tennis isn't always quite in sync but they're very easy together and that really helps.

    We suspected this would be a tough match for Murray and Evans.

    That's exactly how it is panning out.

    The Brits are being munched in their service games and can't make enough of an impact on return.

    When Fritz and Paul land first serves they're in bother.

    A chorus of vocal support comes as the Brits finally get on the scoreboard in the fifth game.

    Not quite as many as the French fans, though - they give Maxime Grousset a raucous reception as he walks out for the first men's 50m freestyle heat.

    The nightmare of the Tokyo twisties has been firmly forgotten about for Simone Biles. That's the sixth Olympic gold of her career and her ninth Games medal in total.

    Biles also becomes the first woman to win multiple Olympic all-around titles since Czech gymnast Vera Caslavska in 1964 and 1968.

    That GOAT necklace came in handy.
