Matt mentioned earlier (18:26) that Team GB's Charley Davison will face Turkey's 2022 world champion Hatice Akbas in the first round at Paris 2024.

Bantamweight Davison has been speaking to BBC Sport about her drive to win an Olympic medal.

Davison says it will serve as a thank-you to her children for her many absences in pursuit of glory in the ring.

She spent seven years away from the ring following the birth of the first of her three children, just a few months before London 2012.

The desire, though, never left her, and after success at national and European level, she regards an Olympic medal as "the top, the last step".

Suffolk's Davison lost in the second round in Tokyo three years ago, but believes she is in the right mental and physical shape to go a lot further this time.

"A happy fighter is a dangerous fighter, and I think I've reached my full potential; I've gained much more experience, and it's going to show in Paris," Davison told BBC Sport.

"Every time I get a medal, I give it to [my family]. That's the reason I need to get on that podium in Paris, to show them that this is what all the hard work and dedication is for. They'll have to take it in turns to look after it."

'The fastest runner doesn't always win the race.' Ecclesiastes 9:11.

It is a quote from the Bible that Jeremiah Azu holds especially close to his heart at the moment.

Not that he is a slow runner. In fact, he is the only Welshman in history to have run 100 metres in less than 10 seconds.

The 23-year-old from Cardiff ran 9.97 in May to take him inside the top 10 in the all-time British rankings.

His reward - after finishing second at the UK Athletics Championships - is a first Olympic Games in Paris, and he is relishing the opportunity.

"It's my first senior global championships individually so I'm looking forward to it," Azu said.

"Hopefully I can come out with lifetime memories and something tangible as well."

American sprinter Noah Lyles has set himself some huge goals.

He is aiming to become the first man to win four gold medals on the track at the same Olympics, targeting success in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m and 4x400m relays.

Lyles won gold in the first three of those events at the World Championships last year and is hoping to claim a place in the 4x400m team after making his debut in the event at the indoor Worlds.

As if that isn't enough, he has also spoken of wanting to beat Jamaican great Usain Bolt's 100m and 200m world records.

Since taking 200m bronze at Tokyo 2020, Lyles has dominated the sprints on the global stage and displays the talent and flamboyance that could fill the void left by Bolt when he retired in 2017.

Four-time world champion Olha Kharlan was in danger of missing the Games because of a ban imposed for refusing to shake the hand of a Russian opponent.

Kharlan was disqualified from last year's World Championships after offering her sabre to tap blades instead of shaking hands following victory over Anna Smirnova.

But International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach wrote a letter to Kharlan saying it would "allocate an additional quota place" to her if she could not qualify because of her "unique situation".

The four-time Olympic medallist has pledged to bring "hope" to Ukrainians amid the ongoing war following Russia's invasion more than two years ago.

No Russian or Belarusian fencers have been invited to participate as neutral athletes in Paris, a situation 33-year-old Kharlan described as "a success".

Spain had trailed after Aoba Fujino's free-kick broke the deadlock but Caldentey has completed the turnaround following Aitana Bonmati's equaliser.

It's still 1-1 in the other game between Canada and New Zealand.
