Breaking
Paris 2024 will give an Olympic Games debut to the sport of breaking – a style of street dance that originated in 1970s New York City.
Attracting new and younger audiences is a high priority for Olympic chiefs, and in their push to remain relevant that means breaking joins skateboarding, sport climbing and BMX freestyle among urban sports on the schedule.
Rising out of the Bronx in the 1970s, breaking is characterised by acrobatic movements, speedy footwork and a hip-hop soundtrack, and the new addition is set to bring a party atmosphere to the French capital this summer.
About 10,500 athletes from around the world will compete in 32 sports at the Olympic Games in Paris this summer.
BBC Sport looked at Team GB's hopes earlier this week, so now we are putting the spotlight on the big stars, stories and stats from a global perspective.
Simone Biles, Neeraj Chopra, Faith Kipyegon and Noah Lyles are just a few to feature in this longlist.
We'll run you through some of them over the course of the day but, if you can't wait, you can click here to take a look for yourself.

If you've ever been to Paris you'll know just how busy it gets in the main tourist spots.
The Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Elysees, the Grand Palais - all tourist hotbeds where it can sometimes be a chore to just get around.
Well, that's not the case right now...
With so many road closures and diversions to allow access to venues and preparation for the opening ceremony, there's barely a soul around those big locations.
Areas around the Seine, where the opening ceremony will take place, are particularly difficult to get close to with the famous river basically under lock and key until it all gets going on Friday.
One thing's for sure, it won't look like this come next week when millions are bustling round the city trying to catch the action.
Staying on the subject of extreme heat, IOC president Thomas Bach has said that "climate change is an extremely serious threat".

One of the things the athletes at these Games will have to prepare for is the weather. It is touching 29 degrees in the French capital today, and a heatwave could push the mercury even higher. Here BBC Sport looks at how one marathon runner is preparing...

Have you even been to a major event if you haven't got the merch to prove it?
One of the ways those in the French capital have been passing the time before the Games get fully under way is by perusing in the many Paris 2024 official merchandise shops.
From t-shirts and water bottles to posters and baby toys and, of course, the Games' mascot Phryge - it's all available at the many pop-up shops around the city.
And it's best to get it now before even more spectators descend on the capital and all you're left with is a pencil and the last key ring.
I won't be admitting how much I bought but let's just say I may need some extra luggage on the way home.
You can even pose for a picture with a replica of the Olympic torch at the official shop next to the Grand Palais...
Some athletes have already started their events, while many, many others are getting in some late practice before they are in action.
Jade Carey of the United States practices on the balance beam
Alysha Koloi of Australia during a training session at the Aquatics Centre
Jack Draper of Great Britain plays a forehand during a tennis training session at Roland Garros
Australia's Molly Picklum takes part in a surfing training session in Teahupo'o, on the French Polynesian Island of Tahiti
Hopefully you enjoyed yesterday's quiz questions. Here are two more, with the answers to be revealed at 18:00 BST.

It has got notably busier around certain areas in Paris today.
This is the fan park at Hotel de Ville, which is still under wraps for now, although we did spy a mini basketball court inside.
There have been plenty of news crews knocking around today interviewing fans, with one couple having made the journey over from New York to watch several events.
Argentina 14-22 Australia
Australia have just completed a clean sweep in Pool B with a 22-14 win against Argentina.
Top spot sends the Australia straight through to the quarter-finals.
They were knocked out by Fiji at that stage in 2020. Can they go further and challenge for a medal this summer?

Once inside the Stade de France, you can see it has been given an Olympic glow up.
If you like the aesthetics of those sugar-packed parma violet sweets and their packaging, you'll love this.
Anyway... there is already action on the pitch where Argentina have been given another French 'welcome'.
Boos and whistles rain down on the Pumas, as they did yesterday, as a result of tensions building between the nation's sporting teams.
First there was the rivalry and fall-out from the 2022 football World Cup final, before Argentine players were filmed recently singing racist and discrimination language about their French counterparts.
Samoa 26-0 Kenya
After back-to-back defeats against Australia and Argentina yesterday, Samoa have just picked up their first win.
A 26-0 triumph against Kenya means that Samoa are guaranteed third place in Pool B and a spot in the knockout phase.
They need to wait for the remaining games to play out in the other two Pools before learning who they will face.

Bonjour! The countdown to the official start of the Games is still on. As is the countdown to the men's quarter-finals in the rugby sevens.
Thousands are heading towards the Stade de France with the likes of Melissa, who works for Paris transport provider SNCF, guiding fans towards the arena from nearby metro stop.
The best way to do that is, obviously, by using a pink foam hand for added effect.
Very Gladiators. Are you readdddy?!

Wow.
Simone Biles stuck the huge vault that was last year named after her – the Yurchenko double pike (now called the Biles II) - in podium training.
It's the kind of thing where the handful of people in the arena witnessing it just look at each other with a mixture of raised eyebrows and smiles.
She had earlier also landed one of her other signature moves – the triple double on floor (triple-twisting double backflip).
Say it quietly, but it does look like one of the greatest ever gymnasts is back. And back in style.
There is a lot to look forward to when the women’s gymnastics qualifying gets under way on Sunday.
Women's archery ranking round
There was a world record set earlier today and it came in the ranking round of the women's individual recurve archery event.
South Korea's Lim Si-hyeon hit an incredible score of 694 (out of a possible 720), beating the total of 692 from compatriot Kang Chae-young at the 2019 World Championships.
It was a great day for the South Korean archers as they also broke their own Olympic record in the team category with a combined effort of 2,046.
Keeping track of all the events can be difficult for even the most organised of us, right?
Well, we've got you covered with a simple way to check the schedule for each day!
