Hello from Elancourt Hill, where the men’s mountain bike medals are up for grabs today from 13:10 BST. It’s an absolute scorcher!

Defending Olympic champion Tom Pidcock and Charlie Aldridge are the Brits in action in this one.

I’ve been for a wander around the course before the action starts, and let me tell you, the first climb was difficult enough on foot, never mind the rest of it. Humbling.

You can't really appreciate the course until you see it in the flesh - the steep climbs, the size of the rocks, the tight turns.

This is going to be a lot of fun.

I'm no expert lip reading but I reckon Tom Daley has just pointed to his medal, looked up to his two young boys and said "that's yours, that one".

'Silver means a lot to me'published at 11:44 British Summer Time 29 July

    Men's synchronised 10m platform final

Team GB's Noah Williams speaking to BBC TV after winning silver at the men's 10m synchronised final: "It means a lot to me. From third last to second. My coach passed away after the last Olympics in Tokyo. I'm happy."

On how his late Team GB diving coach Dave Jenkins would feel about his performance: "Probably pretty proud."

On their fourth dive: "Yeah [nervous for dive four] not really for dive six. That is one of my better dives. By the fourth dive last year, it was my worst dive but it was Tom's best so we had to use it. I've come a long way in the last year just practicing that and I'm really glad that it paid off here."

    Men's synchronised 10m platform final

Tom Daley speaking to BBC One after winning a silver medal: "It's just so special. This time last year deciding to come back, never mind not knowing if I would make the synchro team. Doing it in front of my son who asked me to come back is so special I now have one of every colour. I've completed the set.

On diving in front of his son's "He's (Robbie) six years old and I hope he'll remember some of it. He'll be able to touch some of Eiffel Tower.

On diving partner Noah Williams: "I've never seen Noah cry in my whole life, I know how much today means to him. it's very sad Dave is not here, but I know Dave and my dad would both be so proud to see us here today.

On his comeback from retirement: "As an athlete, you know to train smarter. You have to prioritise things in your life, not just diving. I was getting emotional just getting prepared for this. My husband has really been there, he's taken the kids allowing me to travel when I've needed to. A happy athlete is a successful one.

On whether this was his last Olympics: "I don't know. We'll enjoy today and see what the future holds. Right now, I'll just go and enjoy time with my little ones."

    Men's trap qualification

So nearly a perfect 50 for Team GB shooter Nathan Hales, but he missed his final shot of qualification round two to move on to 49 overall, leaving him seventh with three rounds to go.

Tokyo Bronze medallist Matt Coward-Holley scored 22 in his second round and is currently in 28th place with a score of 46.

Only one shooter has hit every target so far - Oguzhan Tuzun from Turkey. The top six athletes will advance to the final after the second round of qualification tomorrow.

That's a great swim by GB's Freya Colbert, who was third fastest in first 400m medley heat to progress to the final just behind the USA's Emma Weyant and Katie Grimes.

The GB support absolutely loved that! The arena erupted as she chased the Americans home.

Katie Shanahan was fourth in heat one and, after a nervous wait, also makes through as the last finalist!

Canada star Summer McIntosh won the second heat by some margin, while Ireland's Ellen Walshe put in a stunning final leg to go from seventh to fourth and make it through!

In the 100m backstroke, both Kathleen Dawson and Madi Harris narrowly miss out as Danielle Hill, from Northern Ireland, takes the 16th and final spot in the semi-finals!

A valiant effort from Ireland to stay in contention with Australia - but it is their second loss in the pool stages, leaving them with plenty of work to do if they want to clinch one of the top four qualification spots out of Pool B.

The triathlon of the horse world comes to a conclusion today, in glorious conditions at Versailles.

It looks very different to when I was last here on Saturday in torrential rain, that’s for sure.

Following the dressage and cross-country phases, the eventing medals will be decided by the jumping discipline, and Team GB begin Monday’s action in gold medal position.

Can the defending champions hang on under pressure from host nation France? That is the big question in the equestrian.

An element of fatigue could come into play after two days of competition, and in this heat.

In the individual competition, Laura Collett is currently in silver behind Germany’s Michael Jung, and the 25 best placed athletes will qualify to the eventing individual jumping final later today.

We'll hopefully have reaction from Daley and Williams soon, which we'll bring you as soon as it comes. But for now we'll divert to some of the other action that has been ongoing.

    Men's synchronised 10m platform final

Team GB 3m synchro bronze medallist Britain's Scarlett Mew Jensen, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live: "That was incredible, the boys did so well and did us proud.

"For Noah [Williams] to step up like that has been incredible. To come in late like that. He's done amazing.

"If it is the end, he [Daley] has gone out with a bang. The next one is in LA, his home place.

"He has shown that he is just insanely talented and he can take as long as he wants out and come back and deliver that. It's just inspirational and it's incredible to be a part of the team that he is on."

Daley has a beaming smile on his face as he waves to the crowd. A huge roar then goes up as they step onto the podium to receive their medals.

A word too for Junjie Lian and Hao Jang of China, who dominated from start to finish to take a deserved gold.

Jane Figueiredo, Tom Daley and Noah Williams' coach, speaking on BBC One: "Excited, fearless, just over the moon for both of them. There's been a lot going on behind the scenes for both of them, to come and achieve a silver medal is absolutely brilliant. China was just too good. We hung in there, but it was brilliant.

"I'm their coach, so I think they should be better. The games or any of the events, you have to be consistently and emotionally detached. You have to be focussed, just execute the skill and everything is outside of that. They just executed today.

"For Tom and I, it's like old turkey. We've been on this rodeo. It's Noah's first medal, he lost his beautiful, wonderful coach a few years ago. David Jenkins set him up, I took him the rest of the way. Noah was exceptional today.

"It's an emotional thing, it's not just Xs and Os, it's three of us with a whole team around us with an amazing London aquatics venue."

Amazing from Tom Daley, but also fair play to Noah Williams for holding it together and what a partnership they made together.

They were remarkably cool, calm and composed throughout.

Commonwealth silver medallist diver on BBC TV

Tom Daley is actually a robot. He knows what he's doing. The pressure on Noah must have been horrendous, I feel so proud of Noah and he should be so, so proud of himself.

I don't think I would've been able to deal with it. He was so cool. It was truly deserved today.

They did the practice beforehand, they've done about two months together, but the real thing here is the friendship. They get on together so well and that is the thing with this partnership.

Consistency is key with the diving, as we saw yesterday with the Australians, every dive counts. The fact they held it together [is impressive].

They kept the Chinese on their toes, China were further in front but they kept them on their toes. Noah's coach passed away in 2021 and I think that medal was for him today.

Every single diver on their last dive held it together, the pressure was on those guys and they nailed it.

What an incredible achievement for Williams in his second Olympics Games, he wins an Olympic medal.

For Daley in his fifth Olympics, he has completed the set. I know he wanted to defend his title but he has got himself a silver having been in retirement for two years.

Come on, that's an unbelievable achievement.
