London Broncos coach Joey Grima says he has been preparing for life in British rugby league's second tier since he took the Super League job in May.

The Broncos' relegation was confirmed by Sunday's 72-12 loss to Warrington.

"Since I took over we have had a plan A and a plan B," said Grima, who replaced Tony Rea as Broncos boss in May.

"We knew where we were and there were no false illusions by myself or the staff and we have been planning for relegation and the Championship."

The Broncos started the campaign as favourites to go down following the re-introduction of relegation from Super League.

The beleaguered side were in danger of going into administration, had 16 senior players leave the club and were left homeless after finishing second from bottom last term.

However, the capital's Super League club were saved from going out of business by reaching a groundshare agreement at The Hive and a partnership with non-league football club Barnet.

Defeat against Warrington is London's heaviest in a winless campaign in which more than 50 points have been inflicted on them seven times.
