Brett Ferres: Huddersfield Giants forward handed two-game ban

Brett Ferres recently signed a contract extension with Huddersfield Giants that will keep him with the club until 2019

Huddersfield Giants forward Brett Ferres has been handed a two-game ban for punching an opponent.

The 29-year-old was sent off early in Sunday's win at Widnes for punching Vikings half-back Rhys Hanbury.

The England international was making his return to the side having missed three games with a knee injury.

Ferres submitted an early guilty plea and will now be unavailable for Huddersfield's home game with Hull KR and a trip to second-placed St Helens.
