Warrington Wolves and Catalans Dragons had to share the points in a tense 22-22 draw at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Benjamin Jullien got Catalans off the mark but Bryson Goodwin touched down to level the scores and Josh Charnley crossed to put the hosts into the lead.
Michael McIlorum narrowed the deficit half an hour in while Tony Gigot's score put them ahead at the break.
Tyrone Roberts and Josh Drinkwater both kicked well to tie the game, but neither side could edge a late win.
With a thrilling final 10 minutes set up when Drinkwater kicked a penalty goal, Gigot missed the opportunity to steal the lead as he kicked a drop goal narrowly wide.
At the other end, Charnley looked to have won it for the hosts as he ran in on the corner, but video replays showed he knocked on prior to crossing over.
A frantic ending continued as Roberts missed a drop goal attempt right in front of the posts with just over two minutes to spare.
Catalans named an unchanged side after their 35-18 win against Wakefield in the last round and had been chasing a ninth win in 10 Super League games.
Warrington Wolves head coach Steve Price:
"It was a see-sawing game and we were playing against a team who was in form.
"We did really well to get back in front and play some reasonable football.
"I thought the boys showed a lot of commitment and resolve at times."
