Cornwall RLFC have lost their opening two games of 2024 having been knocked out of the Challenge Cup by York Acorn last month

Cornwall suffered a tough start to the League One season as they were beaten 54-12 at Keighley Cougars.

The Choughs conceded four tries in the opening 15 minutes with Ellis Robson - who went on to get a hat-trick - starting the rout after four minutes.

George Mitchell's 19th-minute try was a high point of a first half that saw Cornwall trail 26-6 at the interval after conceding five tries.

They let in five more after the break to leave them bottom of the table.

Harry Aaronson got a consolation score for the visitors after an hour for Cornwall in what is likely to be one of their toughest tests of the season.

Keighley were relegated from the Championship in 2023, having won League One in the Choughs' first campaign a year earlier.

Cornwall, who were beaten by amateur side York Acorn in the Challenge Cup last month, were one of four sides to lose on the opening day.
