    Hull KR 10-8 Warrington

Absolutely monumental defence from the Warrington Wolves.

Attack after attack deep inside their own 10 they manage to deal with and right on the last Hull KR try to squeeze through, this time by using a crowd of bodies to slide over the line but before they can ground it, the ball slips loose..

A lucky escape from the Wire but only after some incredible defending.

    Hull KR 10-8 Warrington

Amazing stuff from Hull KR as they desperately try to offload it through Jack Broadbent at the corner.

Warrington intercept but in the process knock on, conceding a set of six 20 metres out.

    Hull KR 10-8 Warrington

Kicks on the turnover aplenty in this game.

Hull KR punt it upfield, regain the ball but only for a split second as Warrington intercept.

But the hosts are giving nothing away and the visitors fail to break away.

    Matty Ashton

It's given and in quick time, too.

Matty Ashton, that is sensational. The Warrington winger dives in at the corner and the whole move comes following that goal-line drop-out.

There's applause from the booth from Wire boss Sam Burgess. He approved of that.

But Josh Thewlis misses his kick again and Hull KR retain a slim two-point lead!

    Hull KR 10-4 Warrington

Matty Ashton is over in the corner and Warrington's pressure might just have counted.

Referee Liam Moore's sending it upstairs.

    Will this be given?

    Hull KR 10-4 Warrington

George Williams and Matt Dufty combine as Warrington try to beat Hull KR by pace in pursuit of another try.

Ryan Hall sheepishly knocks the ball dead and KR concede a goal-line drop-out.

    Hull KR 10-4 Warrington

Matt Dufty races through the Hull KR back line in pursuit of Warrington's second try.

But KR's Joe Burgess says 'not tonight, mate' and grabs him by the scruff of the neck to make the decisive sixth tackle.

How are these sides keeping up this tempo? I'm sat watching this aching from mowing the lawn earlier..

    WHAT A TACKLE!

That was some razzle-dazzle stuff there.

Lovely inside pass from Mikey Lewis to Tyrone May, who uses his dancing feet to elude a couple of bodies.

    Hull KR 10-4 Warrington

My word, Hull KR should be further ahead!

No sooner do I say they're no longer in control do they batter their way into the Warrington half and almost score their third try of the evening!

Warrington show some absolutely superb defence to keep the hosts out after Jack Brown and Sauaso Sue combine to threaten right on the Wire try-line.

    Hull KR 10-4 Warrington

That Matty Ashton try has certainly heated this game up. No longer do Hull KR look in control. Warrington have started the second half as they needed to - with gusto.

There's a long way to go yet, mind.

He's done it a few times tonight on the few times where Warrington have got some metres.

There was a huge gap available. This right-edge has looked vulnerable.

    It is given!

Seven tries in seven games and, on his 100th appearance, Matty Ashton finally gets Warrington's response.

Hull KR won't want to watch that back - a succession of passes tore them open and Ashton duly picked up the ball after Toby King has threatened to go over and powered over the line himself.

Josh Thewlis misses the conversion, however, and Hull KR keep a six-point lead.

  14. TRY REVIEWpublished at 45 mins

    Hull KR 10-0 Warrington

Warrington winger Matty Ashton looks to have broken through the Hull KR defence and makes a big run through to gain ground.

But he falls no sooner does he get going. Undeterred Warrington press on and Toby King is held up just before the line.

Ashton then gets a second bite of the cherry and goes over soon after. Referee Liam Moore sends it upstairs to video referee Jack Smith. Will this be given?

    Hull KR 10-0 Warrington

Start as you mean to go on? Warrington will be hoping not as they're forced into giving away possession having squandered their six tackles without getting past halfway.

Jeers ring around from the Hull KR fans. They enjoyed that.

  16. 'Hull KR lead deserved'published at 21:08 British Summer Time

    Hull KR 10-0 Warrington

    Andrew Henderson

Hull KR have shown a lot of patience, composure, discipline.

I think they have front-loaded their energy defensively and they've had the better kicking game.

They deserved to be in the lead.

We are back under way at Craven Park.

Penny for the thoughts of Warrington boss Sam Burgess. What's he said to his side in the dressing room, do you reckon?

Willie Peters' Hull KR side certainly took the game to the Wire before the break but can they keep up their frantic pace?

  18. 'Warrington haven't built pressure'published at 21:00 British Summer Time

    HT: Hull KR 10-0 Warrington

    James Gordon
    BBC Radio Merseyside Sport

I think Hull KR are worth their lead. They've got into the game more, they've controlled the game.

I think Sam Burgess will be disappointed that Warrington, even though they've infrequently been in Hull KR's end, that the two occasions they had a platform, they've been so poor.

They've just not been able to build pressure on the Hull KR line and that's something they will have to change if they are to get back into it.

  19. Wigan and Leigh meet in borough play-offpublished at 20:57 British Summer Time

Wigan v Leigh (Saturday, 17:30 BST)

Wigan celebrate League Leaders' ShieldImage source, SWPix

Wigan started the season as World Club Challenge title winners. They ended their regular campaign as League Leaders' Shield winners - retaining their crown.

Tomorrow night they begin their pursuit of retaining their Super League title too - and have the small matter of welcoming town rivals Leigh Leopards to the Brick Community Stadium for a stunning play-off semi-final.

Cherry and Whites boss Matt Peet has won everything he can do since taking over the club in 2022 - but he's staying grounded despite their successes.

"If someone would have suggested the way it was going to play out when I first got the job, I would have been hugely surprised," Peet told BBC Radio Manchester.

"But I don't tend to dwell on it too much, I just look forward and keep trying to improve as a coach, trying to help the team improve, all of us really and that's all we've done.

Leigh, meanwhile, will bid farewell to several players at the end of this season, giving their play-off a 'last dance' vibe.

"The boys wanted to be on their terms when it ends and I think more importantly than that, we need to make sure we've got clarity on how we want to play, try to defend the threats and take our opportunities," boss Adrian Lam told BBC Radio Manchester.

  20. 'The scoreline is justified'published at 20:54 British Summer Time

    HT: Hull KR 10-0 Warrington

    Nick Pinkney
Ex-Hull KR captain on BBC Radio Humberside

Hull KR are by far the better team.

Warrington have no answers to the Rovers defence; the way the systems are working, the processes they are going through.

I understand that the try was a vital decision but Rovers have been the more dominant team so for me, the scoreline is justified.
