    Wales coach on BBC Two

Half-time has been useful for Rovers and not so much for the Leopards.

All of a sudden they've stopped making the errors, they've made good decisions and started asking questions.

  3. try

TRY: Hull KR 16-8 Leighpublished at 52 mins

    Kelepi Tanginoa, con Mikey Lewis.

Marching with intent indeed. Hull KR cut loose.

The ball is moved over to the left beforeKelepi Tanginoais dropped off on a switch.

Moving like a heavily armoured half-track with the accelerator down, he storms through, stepping the cover and scoring.

Brilliant. Two-punch combo from Rovers. Mikey Lewis tacks on the goal.

    Hull KR 10-8 Leigh

Hull KR get a penalty for ruck infringement by Leigh and Hull KR fans cheer it royally.

    They're marching with intent...

    Hull KR 10-8 Leigh

Hull KR had just started to move Leigh about a bit more, with Tyrone May really prominent in each set.

It paid off, slick hands to the right and Joe Burgess has a career of strong finishes like that. He fully believed he could score in the corner.

Two different tries from him. Two crucial ones.

It all came from the error from Zak Hardaker which gifted them field position. When Hull KR get there, they've got too many players not to be a threat.

It is a great finish. A lovely pass from Tyrone May and Peta Hiku but what a finish from this man. Two tries and a try-saving tackle in the first half from Joe Burgess.

That's the danger Rovers possess when they get the field position.

  7. try

TRY: Hull KR 10-8 Leighpublished at 46 mins

    Joe Burgess, con Mikey Lewis

Brilliant finish for Hull KR and they are ahead after Mikey Lewis added the goal.

Joe Burgess received a perfect tip-on from Peta Hiku, and backed himself under pressure.

The try was sent to the video referee, Tom Grant put the proverbial thumbs up and it counted.

    Lewis' goal excellent.

  8. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Hull KR 4-8 Leigh

On the last Mikey Lewis' kick finds Umyla Hanley back on his own 10.

Good kickchase this time from Hull KR and Leigh are pinned in their own 20.

    Better finish to a set.

Zak Hardaker fails to play the ball outside his own 30 for Leigh, and it's a Rovers scrum.

  9. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Hull KR 4-8 Leigh

Hull KR try to open up with a sharp sliding move to the right.

Leigh stiff in defence though, no gaps.

In reply, Leigh work their way to the Robins' 30 but the kick in behind is taken by Joe Burgess.

    No points yet.

  11. SECOND HALFpublished at 41 mins

    Both sides back out.

Boos for the Leopards from the sizeable home crowd.

Sunshine rays down but the wind takes the edge off.

Off we go. Leigh to get first dibs.

We've got a seismic encounter coming up tomorrow on BBC Sport, as 13-times Challenge Cup winners St Helens welcome Warrington - who have lifted the trophy nine times.

It's a repeat of 2019's final, when the Wire short-circuited Saints' hopes, thanks to Lance Todd Trophy winner Daryl Clark.... who of course now plays for the Red Vee.

Jack Welsby v Matt Dufty, Jonny Lomax v George Williams.... the match-ups trip off the tongue.

Chuck in two bona-fide rugby league legends in Paul Wellens and Sam Burgess as respective head coaches, and this one has it all.

It's live on BBC Two, and on here with live text too.

Just joining us? This is how things started in this tie.

Joe Burgess put in an incredible run to to race in from his own 20 to send Hull KR ahead. Absolute cardio.

Far from over for Hull KR, but the riproaring atmosphere at Craven Park has been slightly dimmed by the way this first half has played out.

It's hard enough conceding a try, but kicking out on the full from the restart is criminal.

Their one score came from a moment of magic from Joe Burgess. They might have had another, had the referee got a spirit level out to Elliot Minchella's sweet little flat pass for Dean Hadley.

With Robins specs on, I'd want to see more from Tyrone May and Mikey Lewis, and I want to see the kind of door-smashing bulldozing from Jai Whitbread and Kelepi Tanginoa we've become accustomed to his season.

So far, so good then for Leigh, who look far more formidable with Tom Amone powering down the middle.

He seems to have had a galvanising effect on his teammates too, with the likes of Frankie Halton, Dan Norman and try-scorer Kai O'Donnell looking menacing.

The left-edge, at risk of repeating myself, has also been more than useful.

Only concern from the Leopards' perspective is they've been here before. Leeds at home rings a huge bell.

One great half needs at least a good second. That's the onus now for Adrian Lam's side. But the cup defence is well on.

It is very much a deserved lead for Leigh. They've come here with a pride in winning the Challenge Cup last year and defending it.

They've been good in restricting the Robins and they've asked questions as well.

Hull KR have got to speed the ruck speed up and play a more unstructured game in the second half to cause some problems.

    Hull KR 4-8 Leigh

Leigh go in with a four-point lead, having come from behind to take an element of control in this Challenge Cup quarter final.

Hull KR went in front from Joe Burgess' superb individual score, but Leigh fought back immediately through Kai O'Donnell's try.

Matt Moylan's two goals have the lead with the Leopards.

Cleaned up, patched up. O'Donnell plays on.

    Leigh have a penalty.

They'll take the two as it's seconds to go in the half.

    Hull KR 4-6 Leigh

Easy yards for Leigh down the middle. Frankie Halton like a butcher's knife there.

Hull KR return a kick. But Kai O'Donnell stays down after his tackle for Leigh.

A close up on the big screen explains why. Huge gash on his head and plenty of blood.

    Not one for the squeamish.
