Never, and I mean NEVER, write off the Saints.

    Adam, St Helens

Oh my giddy aunt! Am dumbstruck

    Neil, St Helens

Unbelievable finish and all credit to St Helens but the Rhinos just didn’t put them away when they had the chance to finish them off. Gutted as a Rhinos fan.

    Andrew, East Yorkshire

Best sporting game in the world. Saints On last tackle of the game have 16 passes and get the try to win it. They've always been good keeping ball alive. And I a Wigan fan.

I'm gutted for the Leeds Rhinos, I really feel for them.

But at the same time I'm elated for St Helens because they didn't let Leeds get away from them, they stuck with them and then they came up with the big plays at the right time.

This was the winning moment as Shane Wright touched down for St Helens to send them through to the semi-final.

..and break some Leeds Rhinos hearts in the process.

Not pictured? The incredible behind-his-back basketball-style pass from Tristan Sailor in the build-up.

This is what makes rugby league so brilliant.

Leeds just needed to shut the game down, it was the last play Saints needed a Hail Mary and Hail Marys never come off.

I tell you what, it just came off.

So much happened tonight that I've just remembered St Helens were effectively a man down after Matty Lees left at half-time to be with his pregnant wife who'd just gone into labour.

We're absolutely shell-shocked. The hooter had gone before Jonny Lomax even kicked for touch and the ball must have been in play a minute or so there.

Leeds attempted to make a tackle six or seven times in that passage of play.

They needed to stay connected defensively and they had players coming out of the line to cut the play off and that allowed Saints to keep the ball alive.

Leeds ended up with too many players out of position and Saints scored right at the death.

"There's probably going to be a lot of silence in the changing room," Leeds scrum-half Jake Connor tells Sky Sports in his post-match interview.

I've managed to see a replay of how St Helens managed to score that try having finally looked up from my keyboard.

I'm not sure how that was possible. The pace they showed to race forward after a bruising 80 minutes is impressive enough.

    Let alone the rest.

I mean that's a 'wide to West' moment for the ages, that.

Out of absolutely nowhere, St Helens have won this eliminator and set up a semi-final against Hull KR next week.

Leeds were SECONDS away from a first home win over St Helens since 2017, as well!

I cannot believe what I've seen. The Western Terrace has gone wild and the Rhinos fans are open-mouthed.

Shane Wright has scored the try and Leeds Rhinos' Grand Final hopes are dashed after the hooter.

    Shane Wright

    Oh my word.

I'm not sure what I've just seen.

Leeds concede a penalty for offside on halfway. Jonny Lomax kicks it right on the hooter and St Helens regain a set of six which they keep alive using...what I can only describe as some sort of magic.

They work it right and Harry Robertson can't quite get to the line so they work it left and Shane Wright touches down.

Jon Bennison misses the extras and Saints, somehow, have won!

Harry Robertson knocks on and a roar goes up around Headingley.

St Helens might be within two, but errors like that are even more costly when there's just over three minutes left.

    Jon Bennison, goal Jon Bennison

    My word. Game on!

Jon Bennison channels his inner Stretch Armstrong and twists and turns with his arms outstretched to successfully ground the ball right on the line.

But can his convert his own try? Yes he can! Despite the best efforts of some raucous booing, Bennison adds the extras and Saints are within two!

What a finale we're in for after a pretty flat second half.

  19. TRY REVIEWpublished at 74 mins

    Leeds 14-6 St Helens

St Helens have got the ball down on the line through Jon Bennison.

It's no try on the field but we're going upstairs to see if there's a double movement.

We're going into that part of the game where it's desperation stages for St Helens.

They've eight points to try to climb back and they need to start taking any opportunity that they can.
