    Wigan are in control.

Hull KR are doing a lot of things right but Wigan know how to dig deep.

  2. Postpublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 12 October

    Wigan 9-2 Hull KR

Wigan did not concede a try in last year's Grand Final win over Catalans Dragons. Their defence is once again dominating on the big stage.

They are 15 minutes away from the Quadruple.

  3. Postpublished at 19:33 British Summer Time 12 October

    Wigan 9-2 Hull KR

Those two points suddenly make Hull KR's task seem a lot greater.

They must score twice in this last 18 minutes or so. They have managed one kick in the first 62.

    It's tough stuff now.

Rovers have given themselves another mountain to climb.

That was silly play from Mikey Lewis.

  5. PENALTY: Wigan 9-2 Hull KRpublished at 61 mins

    Adam Keighran

A moment of madness from Mikey Lewis as he lifts Wigan skipper Liam Farrell off his feet and into an almost vertical position.

That is a dangerous tackle and gives up a very kickable penalty.

And Adam Keighran is too good a kicker to pass up the opportunity with an excellent shot through the posts.

  6. Postpublished at 59 mins

    Wigan 7-2 Hull KR

More Bevan French magic as he dances and weaves through the Hull KR defence from a standing start.

He kicks through and tries to chase after it, but his way is blocked, although not illegally.

But it still forces Hull KR into a dropout from under the sticks.

  7. 'Hull KR can build with two-pointers'published at 19:26 British Summer Time 12 October

    Wigan 7-2 Hull KR

    Josh Charnley
Leigh winger on BBC Radio Manchester

Hull KR have to build the scoreboard here.

Wigan's defence is too good for a scramble so if they can pick up a couple of two pointers, they can build that scoreboard nicely.

  8. PENALTY: Wigan 7-2 Hull KRpublished at 56 mins

    Mikey Lewis

Mikey Lewis gets Hull KR's first points of the game, but tests the nerves of their fans as he converts via the inside of the post!

The right call to get some points and they are now within a score.

  9. Postpublished at 19:25 British Summer Time 12 October

    Wigan 7-0 Hull KR

Bevan French has scored the only try and now he has prevented Hull KR from crossing the line with a fantastic tackle on Jack Broadbent.

But we are going back for a penalty for a late tackle by a Wigan player.

  10. Postpublished at 19:22 British Summer Time 12 October

    Wigan 7-0 Hull KR

    Jay Freeman
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Hail has arrived now and the noise of it cascading down onto the roof was deafening.

It genuinely almost drowned out the fans for the brief spell we had.

  11. Postpublished at 19:22 British Summer Time 12 October

    Wigan 7-0 Hull KR

Sauaso Sue is having a bad few minutes.

The Samoa prop knocks on when Hull KR have a good position inside Wigan territory. Minutes before, he had lost the ball in his own half.

Things like that add up when you are trying to win Grand Finals.

  12. Hail!published at 50 mins

    Wigan 7-0 Hull KR

The players are greeted with hailstones as Bevan French is grounded on the sixth tackle and Hull KR get the ball back.

    It's classic Manchester weather!

  13. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Wigan 7-0 Hull KR

Fancy footwork from Mikey Lewis as he avoids being pushed over the deadball line behind the posts.

Brilliant work from the Man of Steel as he gets out and gets some possession in the field.

It feels like the game is becoming a bit more stretched in the opening minutes of this half.

Another Wigan score though, and it will be a long way back for Hull KR from that position.

  15. 'Missed opportunities'published at 19:16 British Summer Time 12 October

    Wigan 7-0 Hull KR

    Andrew Henderson
Former Scotland international on BBC Radio 5Live

I feel that's two missed opportunities for the Rovers in those last two sets.

The first one Evalds executes a poor pass to his wingman which allowed Wigan's covering defence to get across - that's a try gone begging.

  16. Postpublished at 46 mins

Ryan Hall is tackledImage source, Rex Features

Ryan Hall, the veteran of six Grand Finals with Leeds Rhinos, tries to bulldoze his way over towards the left corner.

But the Wigan defence is equal to the task and put him in touch.

  17. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Wigan 7-0 Hull KR

After 40-odd minutes of flawless rugby, both teams make huge errors in the space of seconds.

A Mikey Lewis kick goes loose and bounces up for another set of six deep in Wigan territory but Hull KR rush the attack and Jake Wardle steals the ball.

It reaches Liam Marshall and just when it looks like he will have a clear run from just inside his own half, he knocks on.

  18. Postpublished at 19:11 British Summer Time 12 October

    Wigan 7-0 Hull KR

The Hull KR set ends with Wigan full-back Jai Field getting under another high kick and showing no signs of weakness.

He has done that countless times already this evening.

  19. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Wigan 7-0 Hull KR

Wigan's first set of the second half is defended well by Hull KR.

Now Willie Peters' side have to show something going forward to find a way past Wigan's impenetrable defence.

  20. Second halfpublished at 19:08 British Summer Time 12 October

    Wigan 7-0 Hull KR

Man of Steel Mikey Lewis is ready to put boot to ball to get the second half under way.

What do he and the others Robins have up their sleeves?
