  1. 'Defence has been on top'published at 19:03 British Summer Time 12 October

    HT: Wigan 7-0 Hull KR

    Andrew Henderson
Former Scotland international on BBC Radio 5Live

Quite an absorbing fixture this evening.

It's clear defence has been on top.

We haven't seen a lot of line breaks, we haven't seen a lot of flair - that's because the quality of defence on show from both teams have been exemplary.

  2. 'A war of attrition'published at 19:00 British Summer Time 12 October

    HT: Wigan 7-0 Hull KR

    Luke Adamson
Former Salford player on BBC Radio Manchester

    Unbelievable skill on show.

Both teams have been on top of each other, it's been a war of attrition.

That one point could be crucial.

Any little point, any inch you can take in a game like this, it means a lot.

  3. 'We need to see the Man of Steel'published at 18:58 British Summer Time 12 October

    HT: Wigan 7-0 Hull KR

    Nick Pinkney
Former Hull KR winger on BBC Radio Humberside

That one point could be vital. Hull KR switched off for a split second there, they were looking at the clock.

We need to see more of Mikey Lewis.

I know it's a big thing on the young man's shoulders but that's where he put himself as Man of Steel.

I need to see the Man of Steel in that second-half - he hasn't been involved in the game enough.

  4. 'Fantastic rugby league'published at 18:57 British Summer Time 12 October

    HT: Wigan 7-0 Hull KR

    Jay Freeman
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Anyone who thought Wigan would motor their way into yet another Grand Final win off the back of that semi-final against Leigh and anyone who thought Hull KR would roll over off the back of their second half against Warrington last week will probably have hated that half.

But it's raw, it's visceral and it's been fantastic rugby league.

This Grand Final is on a knife edge and we've got another 40 minutes of this.

    How are your nerves, folks?

  5. Half-timepublished at 18:50 British Summer Time 12 October

Harry Smith's drop-goal is the last action of the half. Wigan are 40 minutes away from the Quadruple.

Defences have been on top except for that one moment of absolute brilliance from Bevan French to score his try.

Hull KR are going to have to come up with something special.

  6. DROP-GOAL: Wigan 7-0 Hull KRpublished at 40 mins

    Harry Smith

That is game smarts from Harry Smith, right there.

There are no more than 30 seconds to go at the scrum with Wigan possession.

Scrum-half Smith gets himself perfectly stationed in the pocket and slots over his drop-goal attempt with his left-foot.

Only one point, but Wigan now lead by more than a converted try.

  7. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Wigan 6-0 Hull KR

Wigan have a final set of six in this opening half.

Ryan Hall stops Adam Keighran's pass reaching Abbas Miski. That is a try saver!

  8. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Wigan 6-0 Hull KR

Hull KR's Sam Luckley gives up a penalty for a high shot, so Harry Smith kicks to touch so Wigan have an opportunity to attack.

  9. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Wigan 6-0 Hull KR

That would have been a fairytale return for Junior Nsemba!

It's such a clever little up and under from Harry Smith. Is it going to bounce in the charging Nsemba's favour?

It does bounce up, but Nsemba knocks on. If he had taken that cleanly, he would have been very hard to stop.

  10. 'Lewis scores them 9/10 times'published at 18:46 British Summer Time 12 October

    Wigan 6-0 Hull KR

    Luke Adamson
Former Salford player on BBC Radio Manchester

Mikey Lewis scores them nine out of 10 times but he's not getting round Bevan French.

Great pressure from Hull KR but unbelievable defence from Wigan.

  11. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Wigan 6-0 Hull KR

    So close!

Mikey Lewis is held up on the line as he goes for the corner.

Then the Wigan defence is resolute to another set with Hull KR within five metres on the last tackle.

  12. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Wigan 6-0 Hull KR

Bevan French uses his fleet footwork again to try to mesmerise the Hull KR defence.

But he uses team-mate Kruise Leeming as a shield and that is a penalty for the men from Humberside.

It's a good platform to attack.

  13. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Wigan 6-0 Hull KR

Without trying to dismiss Hull KR's chances, Wigan have won every single match in 2024 when they have scored the first points.

    They are ideal frontrunners.

In fact, they have won their last three games without conceding a single point.

  14. Junior is back!published at 28 mins

    Wigan 6-0 Hull KR

Junior Nsemba has passed his HIA and he is now back on the Old Trafford pitch.

That is hard to believe when you saw how the 20-year-old hit the ground after the ferocity of that James Batchelor tackle.

  15. 'Rovers living close'published at 18:36 British Summer Time 12 October

    Wigan 6-0 Hull KR

    Nick Pinkney
Former Hull KR winger on BBC Radio Humberside

    Rovers living really close then.

Hull KR have had the lions share but that doesn't mean it doesn't take it out of you, doesn't fatigue you.

Wigan have got those players who can cut you apart when you're tired.

    Stunning. Absolutely stunning.

Bevan French does it again. Earlier this season he said in an interview he doesn't get nervous and never feels unnerved by the occasion.

And that's the end result. What a pity that injury has robbed us of many more moments like that from the Wigan Warriors talisman this season.

  17. NO TRYpublished at 25 mins

    Wigan 6-0 Hull KR

Liam Marshall's finish was brilliant but it will not count.

Forward Liam Thompson was offside in the build-up.

    No try.

  18. TRY REVIEWpublished at 25 mins

    Wigan 6-0 Hull KR

Now it's Liam Marshall who produces the magic for Wigan.

He thinks he's got the ball down but it is given as no try on the field.

    Let's have a look.

  19. converted try

CONVERTED TRY: Wigan 6-0 Hull KRpublished at 23 mins

    Adam Keighran

Adam Keighran adds the two off the tee. Wigan strike first in the final.

  20. 'French had no right'published at 18:32 British Summer Time 12 October

    Wigan 4-0 Hull KR

    Luke Adamson
Former Salford player on BBC Radio Manchester

How good was that from Bevan French! Absolutely outstanding player.

He's got no right to but he goes straight round the full-back, far too much pace and right under the post.

    Fantastic try.
