For the Leopards right now, everyone is on the front foot.

The great thing about Leigh is they don't look to score at every play, they are just happy to put pressure in the middle of the park.

They are such a well-oiled machine, everything is just so smooth.

    Leigh 18-0 Wakefield

Wakefield boss Daryl Powell's face says it all.

Things just haven't gone his side's way tonight. For 25 minutes they put up a fight, but this is Leigh's game now.

An almighty comeback is needed from this point, you'd say.

    Yep, that didn't take long.

Virtually the second the ball bounced out from Lachlan Lam's 40-20 kick, you just knew a try was on its way.

Leigh work it wide again and Josh Charnley goes in at the corner for his 14th career play-off try and 318th in total.

Gaz O'Brien keeps up his good work with the boot to bring up an 18-point lead.

    Leigh 12-0 Wakefield

The problem for Wakefield now is - how much energy have they expended keeping Leigh at bay in the opening 25 minutes?

Things go from bad to worse as Lachlan Lam kicks an absolutely immense 40-20 soon after the restart and if anything, Leigh look like they're in pole position to add to their tally right now.

Liu's just got the power, the strength and the speed to get over the line.

So much possession on the Leopards side, it takes the energy out of you.

Everything about the Leopards at the moment is composed.

Isaac Liu shows immense power to find the space to grind out Leigh's second try of the evening.

But it's the build-up that takes some explaining. Lachlan Lam sent Umyla Hanley through for what looked certain to be a try at the corner.

It took three Wakefield men to bring Hanley down but they couldn't peg them back for much longer as Liu went over.

Gaz O'Brien adds the two and the hosts are two scores ahead.

Wakefield have just defended for the first 20 minutes.

Seven errors in the first 20 minutes, you just can't do that.

    Leigh 6-0 Wakefield

It's hard to get this across using words alone but if you're just joining us, it's quite an interesting encounter, this.

Both sides are playing well but in different ways. Leigh's attack is absolutely immense and they have hammered Wakefield from minute one.

That being said, despite being 6-0 down, I'm not sure you can really make the argument Wakefield are playing poorly. They're defending well. As for how long they can hold the Leigh flood back, you be the judge.

    Leigh 6-0 Wakefield

I'll say this, there's some huge hard-hitting tackles going in right now.

Definitely feels like a play-off game.

Wakefield concede another goal-line dropout but it's sent short by Mason Lino this time.

    Leigh 6-0 Wakefield

Joe Ofahengaue almost dots the ball down as Leigh look to make an immediate impact after Josh Griffin's knock on.

Robbie Mulhern and Caius Faatili make chase for the ball as Leigh look to dart in soon after but Faatili swiftly knocks the ball out for a goal-line dropout.

It's all Leigh so far and Wakefield need to regain composure if they want to avoid this game getting out of their control.

    Dear oh dear Wakefield.

Jay Pitts sends a careless offload into the path of Josh Griffin who duly knocks on despite not being in any immediate Leigh danger.

Trinity boss Daryl Powell looks on in disbelief.

Those are the sort of things that kill you in play-off rugby - you've got to complete your sets.

Keanan Brand, absolutely brilliant, we've seen Leigh do that time and time again.

    Leigh are off the mark!

A swift set of passes sees the hosts work the ball laterally and Wakefield run out ground and can't stop Bailey Hodgson from setting up Umyla Hanley who himself sends Keanan Brand through on the wing and he touches down with ease.

    Gaz O'Brien adds the two.

    Leigh 0-0 Wakefield

Well it's been all Leigh so far but Wakefield almost go in at the corner.

Jayden Myers can't quite get a handle on the ball before he sails into touch and Tesi Niu is dispatched to spare Leigh's blushes.

Leigh are forcing Wakefield to work hard, here.

Once again they're camped within their 10 and mere feet away from the line but Trinity hold them up.

Possession is swiftly turned over well before they can get to halfway, such is Leigh's power right now.

Lachlan Lam once again sends a kick in on the last but Umyla Hanley can't quite keep hold of the ball as he goes to ground and a promising Leigh attack falls short.

Good start from Leigh, this. But Wakefield are holding firm thus far.

Leigh dominate the possession inside the opening two minutes of the game but the hosts run of out steam as Lachlan Lam kicks on the last, leading to Wakefield regaining the ball.

It's still very smoky at Leigh Sports Village, for what it's worth.
