Jarome Luai's complaining to the referee. But Samoa can't play the victims. They've got to get on with the game.

Herbie Farnworth is world-class and probably one of the best centres in the world.

Farnworth with the footwork off his left foot and you are not going to stop him from there.

    Daylight.

Herbie Farnworth shows why he in one of the best centres in rugby league today, quick footwork taking two men out the game as he checks back inside before bursting to the line.

The black mulleted Farnworth holds off last gasp tacklers to roll over the line, and that might be the killer score so close to half time.

Harry Smith rediscovers his radar from the tee, and the gap is 16 points.

This contest has certainly swung in England's favour since Junior Pauga was sent to the sin bin.

Head coach Shaun Wane will be pretty satisfied by the way his side are completing their sets at the moment. That was one of his big gripes in the aftermath of the first test.

England have the final seconds of playing against 12 now, and they are aiming to make it count with another sweeping move down the right.

Samoa are clinging on by their fingertips, they cannot afford to concede the next score.

Fabulous finish from Ashton, but what a pass from Harry Smith. Samoa going short gave England field position. The money ball is Harry Smith's long pass that missed two players out. Air Ashton: Try. Six sets since that sin-binning, two tries. England are playing the sin-binning perfectly.

Take a bow Harry Smith. He has picked the pocket against Samoa who are defending one man down.

Smith comes up with the money pass. That's Rugby League at its best.

    Matty Ashton (32 mins)

    Brilliant try!

It looks like Samoa have the defensive numbers again - only for Harry Smith to find an absolute stonker of a pass out to the right wing. Hard, long, true - the kind of pass you dream about.

Matty Ashton takes the ball to his midriff and powers over to the roars of the Headingley crowd.

Smith's kicking is less true however, as he misses a second successive conversion. That keeps Samoa in the game.

England try to find the overload down the wings, but the Samoan defence is sound.

Harry Smith tries a grubber kick through the middle, but it's the wrong call as Roger Tuivasa-Sheck collects.

It's now about game-management for Samoa.

They need to slow it down and wait till they have Junior Pauga back on the field.

The wind looks to have been taken out of Samoa's sails a bit here. A high kick from Harry Smith, switling in the wind, is dropped by Jeral Skelton.

Samoa have five minutes to survive before they are at full 13 again.

I feel for Junior Pauga a little bit there. I'm not sure what else he could do.

Oh no. No. That doesn't sit with me as regards to the spirit of rugby league. If Bateman hadn't stayed on the ground there, nobody would have looked at it at all. I don't like it. We've come here for 13 against 13, elite against elite.

  15. try

TRY - England 12-6 Samoapublished at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    George Williams (27 mins)

George Williams goes over for a tryImage source, PA Media

The video shows Junior Nsemba making contact with a couple of Samoan players off the ball, but it is decided he wasn't interfering with the play.

Samoa will feel hard done by twice in a couple of minutes, but England have a second try. Captain George Williams grounded in plenty of space.

Harry Smith's kick is wayward, so Samoa remain within a converted try of England's total.

  16. TRY REVIEWpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    England 8-6 Samoa

Can England take advantage against 12 men... it looks like it! Over the line - but it goes to the video referee for a possible obstruction.

  17. SIN-BINpublished at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    England 8-6 Samoa

Chris Kendall is not a happy referee. He says that's the fourth foul play of the game, too many for him.

Junior Pauga, who made that messy tackle, is sent for 10 minutes in the sin bin.

  18. Postpublished at 26 mins

    England 8-6 Samoa

A very clumsy tackle sees John Bateman catch a thigh to the shoulder and knee to the midriff.

It's a crusher of a tackle, even if the intent to hurt wasn't there.

Samoa's tackling today has been full-blooded, occasionally crossing the line.

It is all about George Wiliams, he is making the right decision and the right pass.

He finds that play superbly, but Liam Marshall still has plenty to do.
