• Warrington's Paul Vaughan was forced off in the opening few minutes with a gruesome-looking finger injury. It's currently unclear if he'll be able to return but his finger is now impressively strapped up
• St Helens' Curtis Sironen came off for a HIA (head injury assessment) after taking an elbow to the head
• Saints threw on Jake Wingfield, who suffered a pretty brutal hit from Rodrick Tai and George Williams and has come off for a HIA himself

Sironen, for what it's worth, will be able to continue and is back out on the bike, but can't return to the field until his allotted 15 minutes is up.

St Helens have marshalled Warrington's Matty Ashton really well today.

They have defended really well here and are set up well.

We have come into a real strange part of the game, Injuries have come in and mistakes are being made.

It could be a dangerous moment for both sides, points could be given away here.

It's not given but my word, what an effort to even try.

Tristan Sailor's try isn't given due to a knock on. But I'm not sure on that call to be honest.

It's undoubtedly NOT a try, but the reason should be because the ball is pulled back onto the boot of the onrushing Matt Dufty rather than a knock-on in my opinion.

Either way, we're still at 6-0 rather than 6-4.

Oof, St Helens have gone over.

Tristan Sailor's attempted an audacious tap down from a kick through the posts on the last.

Has he grounded it before going into touch? It's going upstairs to video referee Tom Grant.

Andy G: Seen those result in a card this year as well, second man in resulting in an inadvertent crusher tackle on a falling opponent.

Dear oh dear.

Warrington's Rodrick Tai and George Williams combine in a tackle with St Helens' Jake Wingfield. Initially Wingfield looks out cold on the ground and eventually he's roused and escorted to the sidelines by the physios.

Replays show there's probably no malice in it, as his head first hits Tai's shoulder, then the torso of Williams. But it's a hard hit nonetheless and hopefully he's okay.

They're not sure St Helens.

That's the one weakness they have, that was a poor kick again right there, they rushed it.

St Helens' Curtis Sironen is marched to the sidelines having been caught by a high elbow.

He's off for a head injury assessment.

So both sides have been depleted in a high octane defensive opening 20 minutes or so.

The news from the sidelines is that Warrington intend to throw the ball about with Paul Vaughan a bit to assess how he's getting on with that strapped-up finger.

So he could make a return to the field.

What have St Helens got in the tank as they try and respond here.

The level of intensity that we saw from the first whistle is still right there, absolute quality over the park.

Ben Currie attempts an offload to George Williams as Warrington race straight from the restart.

But his effort is knocked on and St Helens breathe a sigh of relief.

Meanwhile Paul Vaughan has returned from the tunnel and is sat on the sidelines with what looks like a heavily strapped up finger.

It's not really clear at this stage whether his afternoon is over. You'd imagine he'll be raring to get back out there.

If he doesn't intervene then that is try time for Warrington, great take.

Warrington scrum half George Williams lays off to full-back Matty Dufty as the Wire go on the attack but he is well brought down by St Helens.

Running out of tackles the kick goes in to the corner but Saints' Alex Walmsley makes a high catch just before the hosts can get on the end of it.
