Challenge Cup: Warrington's Matty Ashton scores a sensational try against St Helens.

On the subject of families, it is a major theme that drives Warrington's Matty Ashton.

The Wolves winger has made the specular an almost everyday occurrence with the way he goes about scoring tires sometimes. Let me point you to Exhibit A, above.

He is a finisher of rare flare, but he is a player whose career took some kick starting. He told BBC Sport all about it and the role his family played in keeping him motivated.

He is a mountain of power, a picture of poise and is positively hungry for success.

    Meet Wigan Warriors' Junior Nsemba.

Standing 6ft 5in and with athleticism for days, the teenager is one eye catching performer.

BBC Sport's rugby league journalist, and today's TV commentator, Matt Newsum caught up with Nsemba and talked all things rugby league and even picked over some family ties, with the forward being the cousin of Alex and nephew of Rigobert Song - footballers who have featured for clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona.

This job has always been a privilege. And no more so than on days like this.

But what makes days like this a particular privilege - and it doesn't always happen at every ground - is being able to enjoy a great view of the game, while also having the added luxury of also listening to what the sages say on telly.

And I already know that, even at this distance from what is about to become a cauldron out in the middle, it will be very hard to stay dry-eyed this afternoon.

This is Wigan v Warrington today - but really we know that all the pre-match build-up has rightly been focused on one man.

I was lucky enough just now to listen in to three Leeds greats Danny McGuire, Jamie Peacock and Jamie Jones-Buchanan talking so warmly and lovingly with Mark Chapman about the great Rob Burrow.

I have my own personal favourite memory of this sporting legend. The amazing try I witnessed as part of his man of the match performance in the Grand Final that memorable night at Old Trafford in 2011.

Hope this afternoon's contest proves even half as memorable.

And this is how they line up today.

Warrington went with a youthful line-up last week, but boss Sam Burgess has ushered back a small army of stars for this final.

George Williams, Toby King, Matt Dufty and Lachlan Fitzgibbon are among those who sat out that dress rehearsal against Wigan a week ago.

Wigan's Adam Keighran and Tyler Dupree sit out because of suspension, but the Warriors also have a bit of a who's who coming back in for the decider with Jai Field, Abbas Miski, Jake Wardle and Liam Farrell the headliners.

Super League: Wigan mount comeback to edge out Warrington in thriller

It's not often you get a dress rehearsal for a winner-takes-all showdown like this, but that is exactly what was thrown up last week.

Just seven days out from their Wembley faceoff, Warrington hosted Wigan in Super League.

Oh and it didn't half throw up some thrills and spills, as Wigan fought back from 12-0 down and survived a late rally with 12 men to edge out a youthful Warrington outfit.

That victory, however, proved to be a costly one with Adam Keighran and Tyler Dupree both hit with suspensions that sees them miss today's final.

Keighran was red carded for a reckless shoulder charge on Arron Lindop, while Dupree was handed his penalty notice for a headbutt on Warrington's Sam Powell.

Warrington Wolves boss Sam Burgess captured the feeling of this Challenge Cup Final day very early in the week when he said it would be an opportunity to pay tribute to the late Rob Burrow.

Burgess and Burrow were England team-mates and was among the many that helped the with fundraising efforts for motor neurone disease (MND) research and care after the scrum-half was diagnosed with the condition in 2019.

The former dual-code international said a sold out Wembley Stadium today would "really celebrate the life of Rob Burrow".

"If you could pin down a week in the calendar - it's fitting that it's on the big stage at Wembley," Burgess told BBC Sport.

"All [his] achievements, not just on the field but off the field, hopefully we can celebrate them in style with a smile on the face and remember him for what a special character he was.

"Hopefully everyone puts on a great performance. There's three great matches and [hopefully] we all do him justice."

Burgess has long known the impact MND can have on people, and those close to them, with his father also living with the condition before his passing in 2007.

Good afternoon and welcome to coverage of what is set to be an emotion-charged men’s Challenge Cup final.

Tributes to Rob Burrow - one of the biggest little legends that rugby league has ever known - who passed away earlier this week after years of living with motor neurone disease (MND) have taken centre stage at Wembley on what is the British game’s grandest occasion.

Burrow was a rare talent that so often inspired Leeds Rhinos to glory during his trophy-laden career.

Now his memory and spirit has been interwoven into this Challenge Cup story, and will undoubtedly stir something within the Warrington and Wigan players as they take the field this afternoon.

Stay with us for the next few hours to follow it all from the national stadium.
