Cornish Pirates centre Tom Cooper joins Redruth on loan

Cooper has started three Championship matches this season for the Pirates

Redruth have signed centre Tom Cooper from Cornish Pirates on an initial two-week loan.

Pirates signed the 24-year-old in the summer from Newport Gwent Dragons but has so far failed to secure a regular first team place.

"I spoke with Harvey Biljon (Pirates backs coach) and he offered us Tom for a couple of weeks minimum," said Reds director of rugby Dave Penberthy.

"The experience he's got will help our back line enormously."

Cooper joins Pirates team-mate Rhodri McAtee at the Recreation Ground following his loan move last week.
