Plymouth Albion thrash Aberavon in the British & Irish Cup

Plymouth Albion ran in nine tries as they thrashed Aberavon 59-0 in the British & Irish Cup at the Brickfields.

Albion led 33-0 at half-time with Canadian international Aaron Carpenter bagging a brace on his return.

Rhodri McAtee, Lewis Warner, Toby Howley-Berridge, Sam Matavesi, Paul Rowley, Paul Bailey and Sean-Michael Stephen also scored tries for Plymouth.

The game came just six days after Albion needed a last-minute penalty to beat Aberavon 21-20 in Wales.

The win leaves Plymouth second in Pool Six, external behind Munster, who drew 9-9 with Rotherham in the other group game.
