Cornish Pirates ran in three unanswered tries in the second half

Jersey's players must improve their decision-making after the 30-12 defeat by Cornish Pirates, according to forwards coach Steve Boden.

The island side lost their seventh successive game in all competitions to drop to ninth in the Championship.

"I can rightly say that some of the players need to have a look at their decision-making.

"There's no excuse, it was plainly down to poor decisions, poor discipline and poor kicking," Boden told BBC Jersey.

Jersey have won just two matches in the league all season, with winless bottom side Plymouth Albion the only team with fewer victories.

"They were a lot more clinical than us, they took points when they got in our 22, something that we talked about going into the game, said Boden, who signed a new contract at St Peter last week.

"We must have had 10 opportunities to score in the opposition 22 and we didn't come away with one.

"There's no point flowering it up, we had opportunities to score and we didn't take them. It's up to us to fix it and put it right."
