Glenn Walters was Guernsey's hero as he kicked their late penalty

Guernsey eased their relegation fears with an 8-6 win at fifth-placed Hertford in National Three London.

Glen Walters' last-minute penalty secured just a second away win of the season for the island side.

Dave Davison had given them the perfect start with a try in the opening five minutes, the only score by either side before the half-time interval.

James Russell kicked two penalties for Hertford to put them ahead before Walters landed the match-winning kick.

The result will give Guernsey confidence ahead of their key clash with relegation rivals Amersham and Chiltern at Footes Lane next week.

They also face Westcliff, CS Rugby 1863 and Tring before the end of next month.

Guernsey have spent the past three seasons in National Three London, having won back-to-back promotions in 2011 and 2012.
