Samuela Vunisa: Italy back row forward signs for Saracens

Samuela Vunisa, who joins Saracens in July, was born in Fiji and played for the Fijian Junior teams up to under-23 level

Saracens have announced the signing of Italy back row forward Samuela Vunisa for next season.

Vunisa, who can play as flanker or number eight, will join the Premiership club from Italian Pro 12 team Zebre.

The 26-year-old has played three times for Italy.

"I'm looking forward to the move. I've heard a lot of good things about Saracens, about how they treat their players and how strong a side they are," Vunisa told the club website.

"I'm really looking forward to linking up with such a strong squad and hopefully improving as a player in a new environment.

"It's going to be a big experience, and it's a great challenge and I can't wait to start a fresh chapter in the UK for such a big club."

Vunisa, who has appeared as a replacement in this year's Six Nations against both England and Scotland, will join up with Sarries in July.
