England women finished second in the Rugby Super Series after a 15-14 defeat of Canada in Edmonton.

England scored three tries to Canada's one in the World Cup final rematch, but only won after the hosts' Andrea Burk missed a last-minute penalty.

Winger Kay Wilson crossed twice and hooker Amy Cokayne scored the other try for England, who finished behind New Zealand in the four-team tournament.

"This was a tour of development," said head coach Simon Middleton.

"The USA, New Zealand and Canada are probably the three most physical sides in the world and we have come away having learned a lot about ourselves."
