Redruth have scored 14 tries in their last two matches

Redruth boss Steve Larkins said his side put in their "best performance of the year" to beat Taunton 38-3, moving the Cornishmen above them into fourth.

The Reds scored six tries and are three points behind third-placed Bishop's Stortford in National Two South.

"Our defence was unbelievably good - we looked so comfortable and also so confident," Larkins told BBC Cornwall.

"This was a full-on 80-minute game and we were impressive from the first whistle right to the final whistle."

Veteran Chris Fuca went over twice for Redruth, with Kyle Marriott, Tom Cowan-Dickie, Matt Bowden, and Luke Hattam also scoring.

Larkins' team have now won their last five games and have not lost at home since September.

"I would say that's the best performance of the year and lots of people around the ground were saying it's one of the best performances they've seen for quite a few years here," added Larkins.

"We seem to have been sat in that fifth place for weeks and weeks and now we've got up to fourth and now we've got a chance to get in there and maybe push for those in the top three as well."
