Redruth not panicking after first loss, says head coach Mareck Churcher

Redruth boss Mareck Churcher says his side will not overreact to their first defeat of the season.

The Reds went down 21-5 at Chinnor in their first away game on Saturday as the Cornish side dropped to sixth in National Two South.

"The reality is we've lost one game out of three," Churcher said,

"We're still in the top half of the table, we're only going into our fourth game of the season, so there's no panic stations," he told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"In some ways it's probably a good thing, it's a bit of a reality check as we had two home games on the trot."

Churcher, who took over the running of the side last month, says he is more concerned that his side continues to improve.

"From a coaching perspective we want to make sure that we've got continual performances throughout each game," he continued.

"Win or lose, as long as we're performing, I'm sure things will come right.

"It's still such early days in the season, but top half by Christmas we'll be doing alright.

"If you're not too far off the top of the table you're doing alright."
