Newcastle Falcons picked up their first European Challenge Cup points of the season, scoring eight tries in a 50-7 dismantling of Top 14 side Grenoble.

Four first-half tries laid the platform for Dean Richards' side, dominating the visitors with try-scoring half-back Sonatane Takulua influential.

Captain Will Welch got the opening score on his return, before Will Witty and Mark Wilson added tries.

Ben Sowery, Scott Lawson and Marcus Watson added tries after the break.

Eddie Sawailau's late score was little consolation for Grenoble, who are winless in Pool Two and are without a bonus point.

Falcons, who received a similar thrashing on their trip to Ospreys in round one, got a try bonus to pick up the maximum five points.
