Scotstoun is very subdued after a rapid start from a Scarlets side who look far more tuned into this game so far than Glasgow.

It does have the feel of a post-international match, with some players perhaps still coming down from Test action, but there are certainly more than enough players in the Glasgow team who have a big opportunity to stake a claim here.

They need to step it up because Scarlets are bossing it so far.

    Glasgow 0-8 Scarlets

Glasgow's forward pack is far from full strength this evening, and they had no answers whatsoever to that Scarlets maul.

If they can't find some parity up front, it could be a long night for Franco Smith's side.

A not-too-sympathetic pass from Kyle Rowe puts teammate Josh McKay in a spot of bother after an eager Scarlets kick-chase.

Glasgow scramble well though, before Stafford McDowall boots the ball to touch.

Nothing much to report in the early exchanges.

  10. Hastings and Jordan with chance to shine togetherpublished at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November

    Glasgow 0-0 Scarlets

When Adam Hastings returned to Glasgow in the summer it was primarily with a view to challenging Tom Jordan for the number 10 jersey, but there was always the possibility they would form a midfield combination.

That's what we'll see tonight with Hastings at 10 and Jordan at 12. The latter's versatility really is worth its weight in gold and it will be fascinating to see how the Hastings-Jordan axis works this evening.

While Franco Smith has rested several of his more established stars, the back-line still carries a lot of threats, with the likes of George Horne, Sebastian Cancelliere and Josh McKay.

  13. Fifita starts as Rogers & Costelow miss outpublished at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November

    Glasgow v Scarlets (19:35)

Tonga number eight Vaea Fifita returns for Scarlets this evening after being sidelined since the opening game of the season with a knee problem.

Blair Murray - fresh from making his Wales debut during the autumn series - is named on the left wing, with Test prop Henry Thomas in the front row.

Eddie James, Kemsley Mathias, Ryan Elias and Taine Plumtree, who all featured for Wales, and Scotland lock Alex Craig, are on the bench.

Wales duo Tom Rogers and Sam Costelow both miss out entirely.

Costelow came off at half-time against South Africa with a head injury, while Rogers has a calf problem.

With Costeow absent Ioan Lloyd wears the 10 jersey while Gareth Davies starts at nine for the seventh consecutive match.

    Glasgow v Scarlets (19:35)

Fin Richardson and Jare Oguntibeju make their Glasgow debuts this evening in a side bolstered by the return of seven Scotland internationals.

Macenzzie Duncan is among the replacements and could also make his first club appearance as Glasgow return to action after the international break.

Former Scotland Under-20 prop Richardson, a summer arrival from Exeter Chiefs, is selected at tight-head and joins Patrick Schickerling and Johnny Matthews in the front-row.

Oguntibeju partners new Scotland cap Alex Samuel in the engine room.

Number eight Jack Mann makes his first home appearance two injury-disrupted years on from his debut and Ally Miller also plays his first game of the season, with Henco Venter completing the pack.

George Horne and Adam Hastings - who are among the seven returning Scotland stars - comprise the half-back pairing and Stafford McDowall captains the side from outside centre.

The back-three is unchanged from Glasgow's win over Stormers last time out as Kyle Rowe and Sebastian Cancelliere line up either side of full-back Josh McKay.
