Scotland have got to work really hard defensively to close this half out.

Portugal go wide, but the pass isn't the best to find Lucas Martins. He controls with his feet and releases Simao Bento on the wing, and he seems to fly over the line!

But it's ruled out quickly for a foot in touch.

Portugal had another advantage anyway. Back to the corner.

Portugal win the ball back from the restart and have penalty advantage.. and it's kicked into the corner.

The first and second runners are starting to make big yards for Scotland.

It's a great pass from Hutchinson - a really good try.

Portugal concede a penalty for offside from a kick-chase. A coach-killer, that.

It gives Scotland a great chance to knock it down into the corner, which they duly do, but Paddy Harrison butchers the throw.

Scotland are driving back the latest Portuguese attack but a moment of ill-discipline gives the visitors a penalty. I think it was Ben Muncaster pinged for not rolling away.

Not a great defensive set in the end for Scotland, considering they've got a man advantage.

Play is stopped meanwhile, as hooker Luka Begic is patched up.

That's the outcome of pressure - winning two or three penalties.

Paddy Harrison must be frustrated, as he was getting close to having the try under his name.

The throw is good again, Paddy Harrison looks certain to score as the bodies flow over the Portugal try-line...

But referee Takehito Namekawa has his arm in the air and he heads under the posts to award the penalty try.

Duarte Torgal is sent to the bin for bringing down the try-bound maul.

Paddy Harrison's throw is good and he has the ball somewhere in the maul. Penalty advantage coming... and Scotland kick to the corner again.

Scotland just aren't punching enough gaps in this stubborn Portugal defence, and Adam Hastings is cutting a frustrated figure.

However, he's just belted the ball down into a corner after winning a penalty and the hosts have a chance for a third score.

Good defensive play from Portugal.

Their tackling standard is frustrating Scotland.

Some brilliant rucking from Nicholas Martins results in a Portugal turnover on their own 5m line.

They win a penalty, take a quick tap, go wide, then boot it. Beautiful chaos.

Oooooft. Darcy Graham is melted by Diogo Hasse Ferreira in the Portugal 22m.

The tighthead prop was offside though, so his colossal tackle counts for naught.

Almost a chance for Domingos Cabral, who picks off another loose ball and prepares to scamper the length of Murrayfield - but the whistle has gone.

That's unlucky. I'm not sure it was a knock on in the tackle, as the referee adjudged.

Almost a third score in 15 minutes for Scotland.

Tom Jordan fired it wide for Darcy Graham, and with a little goose-step he was away. He tried to pop the ball back inside for Jordan, but the ball went down at the last second.
