Dave O'Lion: Either set of centres (Irish or Scottish) will do a job for the Lions, but I wonder if Finn Russell should get a say. Yes he's good enough to play with either pairing but he knows the Scotland pair much better, in a Test match where fine margins make the difference that familiarity could be the marginal gain we need.

Big breaking news courtesy of our Irish colleagues. Garry Ringrose is a major doubt for the first Test next weekend in Brisbane. The Irish centre is believed to have suffered a head injury towards the end of the Brumbies game on Wednesday.
Huw Jones, who has had a storming first half in Adelaide, would replace him if Ringrose doesn't make it

Good start by the Lions but on the whole a scrappy affair against a AUNZ side that maybe not surprisingly lacks cohesion and much of a threat going forward.
So is the dial being moved in terms of the Test selection?
Hugo Keenan has had a solid first half, much better than last week against the Waratahs.
By default he probably earns the start at full-back against the Wallabies due to Blair Kinghorn’s strained knee and Eliot Daly’s tour being shortened.
In the backs Huw Jones continues to impress, Duhan Van der Merwe has a couple of tries and Mack Hansen has played well.
Enough to dislodge Gary Ringrose, James Lowe or Tommy Freeman from the Test side? I’m not sure it is.
The competition in the back row is still the most intriguing.
Jac Morgan and Ben Earl have had good forty minutes. Where does Henry Pollock fit in? 6, 7 or 8?
Did Tom Curry, Jack Conan and Ollie Chessum do enough against the Brumbies in midweek?
Is Josh Van der Flier the most consistent of all the back rowers?
With forty minutes remaining before the first Test there is still one wild card to play - Owen Farrell is standing by for his cameo? Or is it more serious than that?
Andy Farrell, most likely, already knows all the answers to these questions…thankfully we'll find out in a few days.

When and how Owen Farrell is deployed after half-time will be fascinating.
Despite his experience and pedigree, Farrell comes on this tour with no form or match-fitness.
But he is used to being under the spotlight. At the 2023 World Cup there was plenty of scrutiny on his place given George Ford's excellence at the start of the tournament when Farrell was suspended.
However Farrell came back to lead England to victory against Fiji and then produce an outstanding individual display in the semi-final against South Africa. Yes, it was a few years ago. And yes, we have no real idea what shape he - or his game - is in.

Duhan van der Merwe has been the benefactor of some really smart Lions rugby. This has been their best start on tour so far, Mack Hansen is also looking impressive.
