That's just raw power, isn't it?

As soon as the ball went into the scrum, all eight South Africans just dismantled the Welsh pack.

Wales' scrum continues to suffer, it's a quick tap penalty by Jasper Wiese and Elrigh Louw picks up and drives over the line.

  3. try

    Close!published at 34 mins

    Wales 0-19 South Africa

It's relentless from South Africa and Siya Kolisi looked to have scored under the posts.

But the skipper's effort is chalked off for a knock-on by Jaden Hendrikse in the build-up.

Former Wales captain on BBC Radio Wales

When our forwards run onto the ball, we are so deep receiving the ball when we are carrying forward that South Africa are coming up and we're not getting any punch in the gain line.

    Eben Etzebeth's evening is over.

The giant South African lock has hobbled off and receives warm applause from the home crowd.

RG Snyman - who is slightly taller - comes on in his place.

Good play initially from Kurt-Lee Arendse to tap the ball back to Aphelele Fassi.

Blair Murray has done really well to hold Fassi up there.

Murray was involved in the aerial battle and then he's done really well to get under Fassi there.

We're seeing the physical side of the game take its toll on Wales. They just need to try and move South Africa around as much as possible.

Win the ball in play, put them in positions where they have to make decisions which could lead to chances for us.

The Welsh fans just celebrated that Blair Murray try-saving intervention like it was a try.

The Principality Stadium crowd are trying to lift the home side and are hanging onto anything.

    Wales 0-19 South Africa

How South Africa haven't scored a fourth there is unbelievable.

Blair Murray has done so well to hold up Aphelele Fassi who is furious he didn't score.

We can't get our front-foot ball, we've got to try to generate momentum from somewhere.

As soon as we go on the front foot we can flatten up that little bit.

Dewi Lake had good carry, then the next couple of carries were slow and behind the gain line and that forced Ellis Bevan to throw that pass to Sam Costelow.

That's a difficult kick with Eben Etzebeth piling on the pressure and the only option is to into the air and hoping for a 50/50.

It's tough to watch, isn't it?

    The Welsh scrum is annihilated.

You have to feel sorry for the Welsh front row, particularly Archie Griffin.

That's a lot of tackles Gareth!

No wonder the players are taking their time getting to this next scrum.

    Gareth Rhys Owen
BBC Sport Wales reporter at Principality Stadium, Cardiff

Fifty-two tackles plus 15 missed tackles for Wales. They've been asked to make nearly 70 tackles in 18 minutes.

In a general game you're looking at 100 maybe, 150 total?

Former Wales fly-half on BBC Radio Wales

It's just the hands of South Africa, bringing Cheslin Kolbe into the line.

The Welsh defence think he's going to carry, but his distribution, it's a 25-metre pass out to Aphelele Fassi and he feeds Kurt-Lee Arendse and in 10 or 15 metres of space he doesn't need a second invitation.

    Great finish.

Some relief for Wales, Sam Costelow has passed his head injury assessment and is back on at fly-half.

This is relentless. The two sides seem to be playing a different game.

Wales have been defending manfully with Jac Morgan and James Botham at the heart of the resistance but there is only so much the hosts can take.

They just can't live with the world champions. It is what we feared before the game started and that reality is happening in front of our eyes.

We've seen some of the experienced Wales players step up here. A turnover and some huge tackles from Nicky Smith, Jac Morgan holding the ball up, Dewi Lake carrying well.

We want to see more of that to give the younger players something to follow.

South Africa have a third try.

The world champions stretch the Welsh defence and Kurt-Lee Arendse beats Blair Murray on his wing.

    This is all too easy.

Really good defensive set there by Wales. Jac Morgan just holding Siya Kolisi up, and a few sets before Nicky Smith put in some big tackles.

The penalty count is creeping up for Wales.

Max Llewellyn is the guilty party for a tackle off the ball.

No guesses where South Africa are going - to the corner.
