Well it was redemption night for Sean Everitt and his Edinburgh team and they certainly delivered in front of a home crowd.

Their "season starts tonight" is a powerful message from their skipper and it seems to be true. Hopefully the momentum of their five try victory sets them up for their upcoming fixtures.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  2. 'The guys took the criticism personally'published at 19:20 British Summer Time 12 October

    FT: Edinburgh 38-7 Stormers

Edinburgh head coach Sean Everitt tells Premier Sports:

"The first three weeks have been tough for us and the team. Hats off to the leadership group for pulling it together this week and getting the guys back on track after last week.

"There's a perception of Edinburgh that we're soft and have a soft underbelly and the character of the team was questioned last week as well as the passion. The guys took those comments personally and bounced back this week.

"I'm really proud of how the guys responded this week. It wasn't easy for me personally but I enjoy the challenge or else I wouldn't be in this job. Had we lost again tonight we would've been doubting what we're doing."

  3. 'Our season starts tonight'published at 19:13 British Summer Time 12 October

    FT: Edinburgh 38-7 Stormers

Edinburgh skipper Grant Gilchrist has also been chatting to Premier Sports:

"A lot of questions were asked of us and rightfully so. We spoke about last week about how it isn't acceptable and it still isn't. Tonight is the bare minimum, we showed who we are as people tonight.

"Every time we wear this jersey we wear it with pride and we didn't do that last week. It's about going to basics and doing your job and we didn't do that last week.

"It's nowhere near done, that's the bare minimum tonight and we build from here. Our season starts tonight."

Player of the Match Ben Muncaster has been talking to Premier Sports:

"We needed that win, three losses in a row is tough. Grant Gilchrist spoke earlier in the week about actions speak louder than words and we did that tonight.

"Obviously autumn tests is the dream but right now I'm just focusing on next week and getting another win."

What a way for Edinburgh to redeem themselves after an abysmal performance last week.

Five tries is exactly what was needed to bring some hope back to the Edinburgh fans.

A masterclass from Ben Muncaster surely puts him in good stead ahead of the autumn internationals.

Stormers are determined to get something from this game as they go again up the far side.

Unfortunately for the visitors, they give away a penalty and Ross Thompson calls for the tee... The young fly-half misses his first kick of the evening but with a 21-point lead, does it really matter?

    Edinburgh 28-7 Stormers

As I say that, Stormers manage to pull together some good phases of attack but big hits from the likes of Ben Muncaster and Luke Crosbie send them backwards.

Edinburgh win the turnover and Ross Thompson sends the ball down into Stormers' territory and gets knocked down in the process.

Leolin Zas is a butter fingers in this second half as he knock the ball on when trying to catch it in the air.

This really hasn't gone to plan for the visitors this evening.

A massive move from the Edinburgh pack to win the penalty at the scrum. You can hear the roar of the front row as they celebrate their efforts.

Ross Thompson kicks his side up to just shy of the Stormers' five metre. This is huge, can Edinburgh use this chance to get over the line again?

Edinburgh go quickly off the back of the line-out as they try to find a route through the stubborn Stormers defence.

They change their plan and go out wide to send Darcy Graham sailing over the line.

Edinburgh still on the front foot and Stormers are struggling to keep their defence together.

Never mind! Darcy Graham's knee is on the ground before JD Schickerling rips the ball meaning it should've been a ruck.

This is the third disallowed try of the game! Madness.

  20. try

Try Edinburgh 14-12 STORMERSpublished at 43 mins

    Leolin Zas

Stormers have come out swinging as they send Angelo Davids flying down the nearside, the winger being too quick for Patrick Harrison to catch.

Davids doesn't make it the whole way and Stormers go again but Edinburgh steal the ball back. It doesn't take long for the South Africans to win it back and Leolin Zas finally finishes off the attack.
