    Tomos Williams 1-1 Nic White

Both number nines sporting nifty moustaches and not to be outdone by the opening try for the Western Force by Nic White, Tomos Williams (whose moustache actually suits him) makes it 1-1 with the second try for the tourists.

The Lions have already made 60 tackles after 20 minutes. They only made 108 all game against Argentina.

Finn Russell is certainly one of those high-octane skilful players and the fly-half is starting to enjoy himself.

A few clever touches and deft passes keeps the ball alive before he loses it forward.

That won't worry the talisman too much, though, and he will want to get his hands back on the ball quickly.

We're looking for connections in this second game and that was a try made by the back row. Pollock had two involvements, the first pass leading to a line break before his second touch for the assist. The Test matches will be very different to this, but this open game is most definitely suiting the high-octane, skilful players like Pollock.

While the lineout and defence is concerning, the Lions continue to show plenty of intent and quality with the ball in hand. That was a lovely try with an Irishman making the burst, an Englishman taking it on, and a Welshman finishing it off.

The try is scored by Tomos Williams but it's made by the athleticism and power of Henry Pollock.

The number eight throws a clever one-two with Josh van der Flier before breaking clear.

He rides the tackle of the full-back but has the awareness to release the ball from the deck for Williams to dot down.

Finn Russell makes no mistake from the tee.

Joe McCarthy pinches the ball at the breakdown to stem the Force attack but Sione Tuipulotu is forced to kick deep and clear his lines.

    Back come the blue shirts.

The Lions have had to defend for large spells so far.

I know it’s only the second match of the tour, but Simon Easterby as defence coach looks like a bad pick. The Lions defence has been shocking so far.

Referee Ben O'Keefe has his arm outstretched again and the Force have the advantage.

The Lions are conceding too many penalties in the opening exchanges.

They gave away five in the whole game against Argentina but they have already conceded four in the opening 10 minutes.

    Two attacks, two tries.

The Lions management will be furious that the Force have broken through with their first bout of possession. Penalty count against the Lions is rising. The Force are not fazed by them in the slightest.

We noticed in Dublin how the Lions were disconnected between outside centre and wing in defence, and it's happened again with Pietsch slicing through. It's one area they will need to fix up.

The Lions made a blistering start with Dan Sheehan's opening try but it's been all Western Force since then.

The hosts win a penalty in front of the posts but Ben Donaldson decides to kick for touch rather than take the simple three.

    The crowd like that decision.

No they can't. The Force hit back straight away and it's Nic White.

The hosts smashed against the red wall for a few phases before the scrum-half found an opportunity to snipe over from close range.

Ben Donaldson adds the conversion and we are all square.

Dan Sheehan talked at his press conference about that phone call to the family to tell them he would be captaining the Lions.

They must be so proud as he leads by example scoring the first try for the Lions on Australian soil…

    What a start!

A bit of Finn Russell magic lights the touch paper. The fly-half lands a pin-point crossfield kick into James Lowe's breadbasket.

The wing rides the challenge of his marker and is able to release the ball out the back for captain Dan Sheehan to cruise over the whitewash.

    Russell bangs over the conversion.

If hosting the British and Irish Lions for the first time in twelve years wasn't enough of a driver there's also the emotional factor of two players retiring after today's game. Force Veteran Sam Carter will farewell Australian Rugby, after close to 15 years of service while prop Ollie Hoskins has come back to strengthen the Force scrum before he retires.
