Canan Moodie whacks on, and gets the bounce of the ball, battering it down the pitch.

The second bounce isn't kind though, and there's a knock-on. Edinburgh live to tell the tale.

  3. try

    Wes Goosen

If this stands, it is sensational. But I'm almost certain it won't.

The try stands! Shows what I know.

It looked like there was a clear forward pass in Edinburgh's attacking move, but they played on while the Bulls stopped.

Magnus Bradbury charged down the left and popped up to Goosen, who crossed.

  4. Penalty BULLS 42-28 Edinburghpublished at 61 mins

    Keaghan Johannes

Johannes knocks over the kick. Simple stuff.

    Edinburgh's fightback doesn't last long.

  5. Sin-bin Ross Thompson (Edinburgh)published at 61 mins

    Bulls 39-28 Bulls

Magnus Bradbury spills the restart and hands an advantage straight back to the Bulls. There's another few penalties coming here.

Ross Thompson deliberately knocks on, and he's carded for his troubles.

A disastrous restart from Edinburgh, just when they looked like getting back in the game.

Converted try Bulls 39-28 EDINBURGHpublished at 58 mins

    Ewan Ashman

There's another advantage coming, but Edinburgh won't need it! Ashman powers through.

And it's a double punishment for the Bulls, as JF van Heerden leaves the field. He was offside in that last play.

Edinburgh played well when they were up against 14 men in the first half.

    Bulls 39-21 Edinburgh

This is a bit better from Edinburgh, finally showing some fight in the second half. They're down in the 22m. Do they have the composure, and the energy, to get over the line?

They've got the advantage, and they take a tap-and-go penalty.

  9. converted try

Converted try BULLS 39-21 Edinburghpublished at 51 mins

    Ruan Nortje

    Beyond doubt now.

A big Wilco Louw carry softens them up, before the Bulls' skipper powers his way over. Classic Bulls, that.

Edinburgh look out on their feet, as Keaghan Johannes slots another.

    Bulls 32-21 Edinburgh

Edinburgh drop the ball in midfield and Embrose Papier knocks the ball down the pitch for a 50-22m. In the space of 10 minutes, this game has gotten away from Edinburgh.

The Bulls could put this to bed here.

  11. converted try

    Keaghan Johannes

The Bulls' have flown out of the traps in the second-half! They smell blood!

There was a period of really, really messy play and Edinburgh started to wilt, allowing Johannes to sneak through a gap and pin his ears back.

He knocks over the kick as well. From a three-point deficit, to an 11-point lead. The Bulls aren't messing about here.

  12. converted try

Converted try BULLS 25-21 Edinburghpublished at 43 mins

    Canan Moodie

Cameron Hanekom is back on, by the way. He's helping the Bulls get back up the pitch... and they're ahead for the first time!

Edinburgh don't maintain their discipline in defence, and Willie Le Roux puts Moodie through a gap.

That half-time lead didn't last long. Keaghan Johannes must have found his kicking boots at half-time.

  13. Kick-off / Second-halfpublished at 41 mins

    Bulls 18-21 Edinburgh

An early halt in proceedings as there is a Bulls player down with a knock.

I'm sure those players out there will take any excuse to get a bit of air back into their lungs. Remember, they are 4,432 feet above sea level.

More of the same. It looks a bit risky, to play quickly and get the numbers in attack, but Edinburgh need more of the same.

Their discipline will have to improve a little bit, and at scrum time as well. The more possession they get, the quicker they can play at tempo.

That gives them more of a chance.

    Leinster v Scarlets (15:00)

When the game in Pretoria ends, we will be handing over to our colleagues in Dublin to tell you everything you need to know about the third URC quarter-final Leinster v Scarlets.

The winner of that one will face Glasgow. If Leinster win, that'll be in Dublin. If Scarlets win, it'll be at Scotstoun.

It's been a brilliant half of rugby. All three of Edinburgh's tries have come from kicks to the corner.

They've been holding their width, holding their feet. They made a brilliant start and it got even better, with Ross Thompson showing good identification.

Cameron Hanekom has been really impressive, done so much.

  17. Half-time Bulls 18-21 Edinburghpublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 31 May

James Lang wins it back and Edinburgh launch the ball out of play. The Bulls aren't happy though, and the referee is checking it.

Half-time, or is it? We'll wait to see what Adam Jones says...

Yes, that is the break. Edinburgh were desperate for that whistle there. After 40 minutes of breathtaking, energy-sapping rugby, the visitors have a three-point lead.

They'll be disappointed that the Bulls have eaten into their lead, but if you'd offered them a three-point lead at the half before kick-off, they'd have bitten your hand off.

    Bulls 18-21 Edinburgh

It's the last play of the half, as Edinburgh win a scrum. But the lose a penalty, being driven backwards by the Bulls!

They kick down towards the 22m line. Edinburgh under the cosh now.

  19. try

Try BULLS 18-21 Edinburghpublished at 37 mins

    Harold Vorster

Edinburgh have the ball one second, and concede a try the next!

Darcy Graham chips ahead but the Bulls nick it back, chuck it wide, and Sebastian de Klerk lobs ahead and gathers.

He pops to his left, and the defending Ali Price is caught in two minds, allowing Vorster to dive over in the corner.

Another missed conversion. They'd be ahead if he'd knocked over these conversions.

  20. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Bulls 13-21 Edinburgh

It looks like a clear try for the Bulls but Ewan Ashman's covering defence saves the day for Edinburgh.

Harry Paterson is caught on by a long miss-pass and the Bulls fly through. It's popped back inside to Embrose Papier but he spills when Ashman tackles him, just five metres from the line.

    Scrum to the visitors.
