That is more like what you expect from Ireland when they had the ball.

It was brilliant. Loads of options and loads of runners.

What a spectacular start to the game.

Australia put boot to ball this time and Ireland will have the throw on halfway.

The line-out didn't really function against Japan, but it's all good this time.

    Ireland v Australia (20:10 GMT)

Australia's last three games in Dublin have all been decided by a three-point margin.

Ireland came out on top on all of those occassions in 2016, 2022 and 2024.

Is it the Wallabies' time in Dublin?

The markings from Thursday night's Republic of Ireland game are still clearly visible on the Aviva Stadium pitch.

The Lansdowne Road venue has been busy recently, with last week's Ireland-Japan game and an FAI Cup final also keeping the groundstaff on their toes.

The pitch looks in good shape all things considered.

The football lads lit this place up with a stunning win over Portugal the other night. Hopefully that inspires Andy Farrell's side tonight.

There are still several pockets of empty seats as the teams trot out.

It's unquestionably a better atmosphere - the light show and fireworks help - than last week, but that was a low bar. Night games hit different.

Caelan Doris and Harry Wilson lead the teams out of the tunnel and into the cauldron.

Dublin is looking great under the lights.

  20. 'Ireland need to ramp it up'published at 20:01 GMT 15 November

    Ireland v Australia (20:10 GMT)

    Brian O'Driscoll
Former Ireland captain on TNT Sport

It was not the performance that Ireland or Andy Farrell expected [against Japan] and Ireland really need to ramp it up as this is a different quality of opposition today.
