You wonder how important those three missed Callum Sheedy conversions could be.

Instead of a 21-point lead, Cardiff's advantage is only 15 points and that can be wiped out pretty quickly.

Other results in the URC this weekend...

Sharks clinched a narrow 18-17 win at Edinburgh on Friday night, a result that sent the Durban side up to fifth and also did Cardiff a favour.

Eighth-placed Edinburgh are now only a point above Cardiff after playing a game more.

Earlier today, meanwhile, Benetton beat Lions 42-31 in Johannesburg to move up to fifth and keep the South African side down in 14th place.

Stormers are leading Connacht in Cape Town 26-24.

That's another more positives for Cardiff and Scarlets.

Cardiff were in complete control of that first half with a bonus-point fourth try inside 35 minutes. Three missed conversions has seen the scoreline flatter the Ospreys.

Mark Jones' side are missing key injured forwards Justin Tipuric, Rhys Davies, Adam Beard and Morgan Morris, and that has told in the opening 40 minutes.

Alex Mann has been pinged for a croc-roll on Morgan in the same collision and the try is chalked off.

Ospreys just about survive because a fifth try could have spelt the end of this game.

Wow... five tries for Cardiff before half-time!

Or have they? It has gone to the TMO.

Cardiff have an attacking scrum six metres from the Ospreys line over on the left.

Another try here and this could be game over.

    Ospreys 7-22 Cardiff

Well they won't score if they keep offending like that!

Morse will finish the half in the bin after paying the price for his team's persistent penalties.

Cardiff win a scrum penalty and the big lads up front like that one.

Yes Ian, sloppy is the perfect word.

It has been a VERY inefficient display from Ospreys so far.

They've had more than their fair share of possession but have been so inefficient.

The Ospreys have been sloppy, they’ve not been looking after the ball.

    Alex Mann

Now the flanker has a second.

Gabriel Hamer-Webb - who also has a pair - chipped ahead before the ball was gathered by Johan Mulder.

Liam Belcher crashes headlong into the Ospreys' retreating defence before Ben Thomas' clever cross-field kick finds Mann out wide on the right.

That's a bonus point five minutes before half-time.

There's a break in play and a chance for the water lads to come on.

I think Duncan Jones is passing on some stern words from Mark Jones to the Ospreys pack.

Hamer-Webb has had a cracking game.

It was far too easy for Cardiff to crack open the Ospreys, they’ve been so much better at the key aspects of this game so far.

  20. try

Try: Ospreys 7-17 Cardiffpublished at 28 mins

    Gabriel Hamer-Webb

The wing has a second in the space of eight minutes.

Ben Donnell broke clear of a maul in midfield but the big lock knew he would never have the legs to go all the way.

He does well to find Hamer-Webb who beats Reuben Morgan-Williams and just manages to ride a tap tackle by Jack Walsh before wrestling with Morgan Morse to touch down over the line.

Suddenly Cardiff are in control despite a second missed conversion.
