Welsh rugby desperately needs a good news story following the latest saga in the soap opera, with Cardiff being taken over by the Welsh Rugby Union this week after the Arms Park side temporarily fell into administration.

Ospreys reaching a first European semi-final in their 22-year history would be something to cheer about.

    FT: Edinburgh 34-28 Bulls

It was a mammoth effort from the Edinburgh number eight.

The whole home back row had to deliver a big performance and they did, Jamie Ritchie especially, but Bradbury's hard work and first-half try tipped it over the edge.

A word too for Ben Muncaster, who slotted in seamlessly after coming on.

It was a nail-biter. We expected the Bulls to come back and have a spell.

Edinburgh made it hard for themselves, but the quality of the Bulls bench - Canan Moodie, Marco van Staden - made a big difference.

Neither team took control right until the end. It was a brilliant contest.

Physical, attritional, fast. Edinburgh will be very happy with that.

It had everything, absolutely everything. Fantastic attack, gritty hard defence.

Controversy, penalty tires, yellow cards, potential red cards.

The main thing it had was huge commitment from both squads. Every individual gave it everything. Some huge performances.
