It was only a short three weeks ago that these two sides met in the Premiership, also on a Sunday afternoon, also at the Recreation Ground.
There was only a slim two points between the sides at half-time as both sides traded sores and had each secured a four-try bonus point by the break.
However Bath's strength in depth ended up being too much for the Cherry and Whites away after the break, as they were restricted to zero points in the second-half and as Bath's line of A* replacements on the bench came onto the pitch.
Gloucester director of rugby George Skivington said his side could not live with Bath's "power-game" after the match and that no one had looked as powerful as them this season.
Gloucester have the memory of that defeat sharp in their minds and will know what they have to be better at if they want revenge today, and to progress to the Challenge Cup semi-finals.
That doesn't mean their task will be any easier though.

Bath head of rugby Johann van Graan, meanwhile, says today's derby is all about which side can "handle the pressure" best.
"I think the difference between a normal Premiership game and this game is it's knockout. It will be fascinating to see how both teams handle the pressure," Van Graan told BBC Radio Bristol.
"We saw it again in the Champions [Cup] and the Challenge Cup on the weekend, pressure in a knockout game is a funny thing. Sometimes it goes to the last play, sometimes it's a drop-goal, sometimes it's a blowout score.
"The only thing we can control is our performance and what we do in the week."

Bath v Gloucester (17:30 BST)
Gloucester are all too aware of the challenge facing them as boss George Skivington says winning at the Rec is "one of the biggest challenges" in European rugby.
Bath are the current runaway Premiership league leaders and on the hunt for three trophies this season.
"It's probably the biggest challenge in Premiership rugby, one of the biggest challenges in European rugby, you're going to the top of the league in the Premiership against a star-studded team," director of rugby Skivington told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
