How many of these players will wind up on the Lions tour this summer? That's a nice subplot with England full-back George Furbank fit enough to be on the Saints bench and flanker Henry Pollock catching the eye this season.

Director of rugby Phil Dowson called Pollock a "world-class" talent recently. Is he on the plane?

Northampton are the last English team left in the Champions Cup, with the Premiership salary cap long been touted as a reason why clubs may struggle in Europe.

The cap was increased from £5m to £6.4m at the start of this season but it is still considerably less than the £9m cap for Top 14 clubs in France.

Many England internationals, including former Test captain Owen Farrell and wing Jack Nowell have moved to France on more lucrative deals.

    Bordeaux 47-29 Munster

    It's all over.

It's the end of the road for Munster in this season's Champions Cup campaign as Bordeaux secure an impressive win at home and progress to the semi-finals.

The damage was done in the first half as Bordeaux notched four first-half tries to Munster's one.

A late fightback from the visitors proved to be insufficient against the French side who demonstrated their attacking flair to score two more tries after the break.
