France ping a penalty into the corner. It is not a great kick but can their maul do some damage?

Alex: The officiating within this semi-final has been horrendous. Two tries that shouldn't have stood and some very strange calls by the ref.

I'm a big fan of Natasha Hunt but her distribution has been really poor today.

It was getting fractious but what wasn't fractured was the forward drive. They were always in control.

What a maul. That must have gone 20 metres forward.

The crowd don't like it, but to be fair to the officials, they were in line.

A forward pass and Abby Dow's try is ruled out. Sharp hands by Ellie Kildunne. It was very tight.

We look a bit out with our timing, defensively it is very good but we need to sort the attacking play out.

Kit, Devon: England so lucky to still be in this let alone winning, really need half-time to get some focus.

Only positive from this half is England are in the lead. Cut out the errors and they should pull clear.

Both teams look like they are on the edge but have had good moments. I think England are lucky to be ahead by two points.

    A weird old half.

England seemed to be winning lots of the battles - having the better of the breakdown and the set-piece - but are in danger of losing the war.

Their inaccuracies in attack are costing them territory and possession and France are growing in belief.

Dangerous times. Which is probably the message that Meg Jones was attempting to impart, perhaps with a bit more emphasis, to Zoe Aldcroft and Natasha Hunt during a conflab among the team leaders as they headed down the tunnel.

Half-time footage shows a bad miss from the officials as it looks like Natasha Hunt knocks the ball forward prior to Ellie Kildunne's try.

France absolutely bossing the play. England looking rattled. Home fans quiet. Is there a huge shock in the making?

    Gordon

How poor have England been in this first half? If France could finish they would be out of sight.

There are two teams at the moment, neither of which are composed. Their leaders need to grab hold of them and tell them they need to be more precise. That composure could make all the difference.
