    Leicester 13-6 Sale

Solomone Kata does brilliantly to corral a bouncing Handre Pollard kick on the Tigers left flank and then take a colossal impact before offloading to Ollie Hassell-Collins who can't hold onto the wet ball, allowing Sale to breathe again.

  2. 'Great start to the half for Sale'published at 16:42 British Summer Time 7 June

    Leicester 13-6 Sale

    Will Addison
Former Sale back on BBC Radio Manchester

A great start for Sale and they are just starting to find that little bit of rhythm we have been looking for.

The game is starting to open up a little bit and this open style of game will probably suite them more than Tigers.

Some powerful drives from Sale as JL Du Preez bulldozes his way towards the posts, only for the play to be brought back for an offside.

George Ford takes the chance to slot the penalty from just inside the 22 and all of a sudden Sale are within a converted try of parity.

Sale have got to get the execution from these set-pieces right in this second half.

None of OHC, Ibitoye or Radwan in the England squad this summer…whatever happened to the classic case of a winger being selected purely to be rapid and a try scorer?! The aim of the game is still to score more points than the other team, right?! Any of those three would make an attacking difference. Feels incredibly harsh on them.

    Leicester 13-3 Sale

Wasteful from Sale scrum-half Raffi Quirke who tries a box kick after a good break down the Sale right, without any chasing support and gifting possession back to the hosts on the edge of their own 22.

  7. 'Sale will throw everything at Tigers'published at 16:36 British Summer Time 7 June

    Leicester 13-3 Sale

    Tom Varndell
Former England and Leicester wing on BBC Radio Leicester

The second half is going to be just as epic as I think the first half but Tigers need to keep doing what they did.

The defensive sets were so good and they were so consistent but Sale are going to come out and throw everything at Tigers.

Couple of handling errors already with this now greasy ball... these two sides combined for 78 points here a month ago, not sure we see that many today.

(If we do, pray for me!)

Radwan? More like mad one... if the first half is anything to go by this second half should be special.

The Bath players and staff watching this with their feet up might just be sitting a little less comfortably than they were an hour ago.

Let's find out who they'll be playing at HQ next Saturday, shall we?

Handre Pollard gets us under way at a now wet and wild Welford Road.

Sale are trying to force things, certainly when we've managed to get into the Leicester half.

Similar to against Exeter last week, just forcing play a little bit, forcing offloads and really trying to break down this Leicester side in a creative way but unfortunately it's causing a few handling errors.

It's taking away that rhythm we're searching for.

  11. 'Still doable for Sharks - more of same from Tigers'published at 16:32 British Summer Time 7 June

    HT: Leicester 13-3 Sale

    Chris Ashton
Former England, Sale and Leicester wing on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

If you're Sale there's a list of messages at half-time.

They've got to sort the set-piece out because the defence is so good they've got to stop giving easy opportunities to Leicester Tigers - penalties, knock ons and backfield space.

It's still doable for Sale Sharks and for Leicester they just need to keep doing the same thing. Efficient exits and using the ball in the opportunities you're getting. More of the same.

    That first half had everything.

We had the ferocious carries, the tackling, the defensive sets that Tigers had to do. Obviously Sale bringing everything and chucking everything at the Tigers.

But some of the finishing has just been brilliant. Leicester just seem like they're understanding what they're doing. When you are consistently picking the same team week in week out you get to understand each other and it's showing today.

They are playing some really good stuff.

In all my years playing and watching rugby, I’ve never seen anything like that Radwan score - the replay of when Pollard kicks it and he still hasn’t even moved AFTER he sees the kick, to making up 20 meters and CATCHING the ball MID-DIVE!?!?

It's been Leicester's half, they started with a bang. The first 20 minutes was quite cagey, both sides feeling each other out.

I know Superman is out very soon, Adam Radwan is auditioning there...

It's actually a terrible kick from Handre Pollard, he'll be livid, but what a finish and he's stamping his authority in this stadium.

I’ve been watching Adam Radwan since he burst onto the scene with Darlington Mowden Park and he’s always been a special player, capable of scoring from almost anywhere on the pitch due to his extreme pace - think he should be in the England squad again because he offers a skillset that no other winger has.

Sale hold firm, somehow...and the whistle goes as Leicester turn the ball over.

    Wonderful Premiership rugby, this.

We've seen some incredible physicality, some wily defence and some truly spectacular attacking stuff, and it's only half-time.

A penalty apiece from Handre Pollard and George Ford were followed by two pieces of razzle-dazzle from Tigers wing Adam Radwan.

He jinked his way inside to dot down the first on 20 minutes and then eight minutes later soared like Superman to haul in Pollard's diagonal kick to the corner to register one of the best tries you'll see.

The players might appreciate the break, but I didn't want the first-half to end...
