But Ospreys are counter-rucking really well and getting a lot of turnovers.

Watching Ospreys flankers Jac Morgan and Justin Tipuric combine is an absolute delight and the pair were prominent figures in the build-up to that third try for the hosts.

It just seems cruel we will be deprived of this poetry when Tipuric hangs up his boots at the end of the season to become the new Ospreys defence coach.

Fair play, there was a great piece of skills then from the touch judge behind the posts who caught Dan Edwards' kick perfectly.

Just a shame he forgot to raise his flag!

Ospreys coach Duncan Jones told S4C: "It's never good to concede an early try, but in fairness we knew phase 1-3 Newcastle have got some good stuff, they had their chance and they took it.

"We obviously went up the other end and scored.

"As you'd expect in any game there's a lot of physicality around the breakdown, so we're working on try to get that speed of ball.

"The boys will keep building into it now and hopefully keep building that scoreboard."

We've seen the Ospreys maul so many times when they're five meters out.

They're so deadly from that position.

Well the decision itself looked a little iffy and the kick was similar as Wilkinson pulls a very kickable penalty wide.

That was a great try. The pass from Reuben Morgan-Williams put Keelan Giles into space who didn't have a lot of room to work with.

But his vision to put the kick through with his weak foot was fantastic and a great finish from Jack Walsh.

Just what the crowd needed after a poor start for the Ospreys.

When you look at the two lineups on paper there's not much of a contest.

Ospreys have six internationals including a British & Irish Lion and a Wales captain.

You could see Kieran Wilkinson itching to put in a chip kick in the build-up with his gesturing to his backline and Louis Brown was the beneficiary.

The ground was almost silent when Brown flopped over the line except for a roar from the Newcastle coaching staff behind us.
