Australian Open: Jamie Jones beats Michael White to reach last four

Jamie Jones has beaten fellow Welshman Michael White 5-4 to reach the semi-finals of the Australian Open.

Jones, who qualified for the event, is through to the semi-final of a ranking tournament for the first time in his career.

The 27-year-old hammered world number one Mark Selby 5-1 to reach the last eight.

Jones will face four-time world champion John Higgins in the semi-final after the Scotsman beat Joe Perry 5-3.

Martin Gould will take on Stephen Maguire in the other match.
