    O'Sullivan 5-2 Si

Ronnie O'Sullivan has a pot-success rate of 93% to Si Jiahui's 86%. The Rocket rattles a break of 54 in double quick time - starting with a brilliant long pot - and blows open the pack of reds. He's motoring to the conclusion of this session now.

  2. Postpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time

    Trump 5-2 Brecel

    Ken Doherty
1997 world champion on BBC iPlayer

He's had to sit in his chair for long periods but Luca's come back and given hmself belief.

  3. Brecel pulls one backpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time

    Trump 5-2 Brecel

An important frame for Luca Brucel.

Hes back to 5-2 behind with a 68 break.

    O'Sullivan 5-2 Si

    Shaun Murphy
2005 world champion on BBC Two

Si Jiahui nearly put his cue through the floor as he walked back to his chair after that missed black. He was so annoyed. He'd just got a foothold in the match and he really should have won that frame. Now he's scrambling to win the last frame to stay in touch.

  5. O'Sullivan makes Si paypublished at 16:41 British Summer Time

    O'Sullivan 5-2 Si

Ruthless from the Rocket, who returns and clears the table bar the black to pinch the frame with a break of 67. That missed black really cost Si Jiahui.

  6. Postpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time

    O'Sullivan 4-2 Si

    Dennis Taylor
1985 world champion on BBC Two

I think Si Jiahui is starting to relax a bit now. He made that century break earlier but has still looked a bit tense. Until that black, that was much better. Can Ronnie jump on this chance now?

  7. Postpublished at 16:36 British Summer Time

    O'Sullivan 4-2 Si

A quickfire break of 52 with the pack open and Si Jiahui has looked much more purposeful in the seventh frame so far. However, he completely misses a routine black to allow Ronnie O'Sullivan back to the table.

  8. Postpublished at 16:31 British Summer Time

    O'Sullivan 4-2 Si

    Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Two

Ronnie O'Sullivan has probably just popped out of the room to compose himself. There's two more frames left in this session and you suspect he'd probably be happy with 5-3 and think it represents a good afternoon's work.

  9. Postpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time

    Trump 5-1 Brecel

    Ken Doherty
1997 world champion on BBC iPlayer

This is unplayable. Absolutely unplayable. He's got the cue ball on a string.

  10. Trump in chargepublished at 16:29 British Summer Time

    Trump 5-1 Brecel

Judd Trump looks on course for a third century break but falls down on 87.

He is looking so smooth out there and Luca Brecel hasn't had much of a look-in so far.

    O'Sullivan 4-2 Si

Si Jiahui with a break of 60 before he misses a simple pink into the top corner pocket. However, Ronnie O'Sullivan happy to concede the frame. O'Sullivan nips out for a quick comfort break, running his fingers along the cushion on the table as he strides off.

  12. Postpublished at 16:26 British Summer Time

    O'Sullivan 4-1 Si

    Shaun Murphy
2005 world champion on BBC Two

A lot has been said about Ronnie and his new cue - that he's struggling over distance and has a bit of anxiety - but when nobody can lay a glove on you it does put you at ease. Si Jiahui was in the balls in that last frame but missed key shots. You can't do many of those and live to tell the tale.

  13. Postpublished at 16:25 British Summer Time

    O'Sullivan 4-1 Si

A bit of an attritional sixth frame with the blue, black and pink all in the top half of the table and the reds sprinkled at the other end. Si Jiahui has a break of 42 out of 51 but still plenty of work to do to close out this frame for the player from China.

  14. Postpublished at 16:20 British Summer Time

    Trump 4-1 Brecel

    John Parrott
1991 world champion on BBC iPlayer

Absolutely wonderful. Another century and that record of Neil Robertson is not just in danger, it's quvering.

  15. Another century for dominant Trumppublished at 16:19 British Summer Time

    Trump 4-1 Brecel

Two tons in a row for the 2019 world champion Judd Trump.

A 110 run follows his 106 in the previous frame to go 4-1 up on Luca Brecel.

Trump is now on 102 centuries for the season, one behind Neil Robertson's record.

  16. Postpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time

    O'Sullivan 4-1 Si

    Dennis Taylor
1985 world champion on BBC Two

That was a wonderful break from Ronnie O'Sullivan. He has come out and looked much more focused after the mid-session interval.

  17. Sullivan in controlpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time

    O'Sullivan 4-1 Si

Ronnie O'Sullivan misses the final red, and the opportunity of a century break, but has enough to take the frame with a break of 87. He has a three-frame cushion now and is firmly in control of this one.

  18. Postpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time

    O'Sullivan 3-1 Si

    Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Two

One of the advantages a top player like Ronnie O'Sullivan has is their reputation can put their opponent in the background. I don't think all the players who play against Ronnie do so their full potential. But every now and then someone raises their game and beats Ronnie with an exceptional performance.

  19. Postpublished at 16:09 British Summer Time

    O'Sullivan 3-1 Si

Ronnie O'Sullivan is still not quite at his fluent best but there are flickers of magic now. He's starting to build up a head of steam in the fifth frame having potted all but one of the reds as he eyes his seventh century break of the tournament.

If Ronnie O'Sullivan is the GOAT, why is he not number one? And players like Cliff Thorburn and Alex Higgins would all give him a run for his money. O'Sullivan uses the hype from commentators and media to intimidate his opponent.
