  1. Wakelin extends leadpublished at 17:26 British Summer Time 19 April

    Robertson 1-6 Wakelin

Four frames in a row now for Chris Wakelin, who takes control of the seventh with another half-century break and gets over the winning line at his next visit.

Neil Robertson, needing a couple of snookers, absolutely thunders in a long red - maybe a bit of frustration in that pot - but he can't find the colour and concedes.

  2. Superb century gives Wu the leadpublished at 17:16 British Summer Time 19 April

    Williams 3-4 Wu

Mark Williams has not potted a ball for over 40 minutes.

In that time Wu Yize has dominated the table and even the Welshman smiles as his opponent plays a sensational shot on the pink on his way to completing a 136 total clearance.

    Williams 3-3 Wu

    Dennis Taylor
1985 world champion on BBC Two

Wu Yize has wonderful technique. The pause before he delivers the cue is piston like. He is performing like he has been playing at the Crucible for a lifetime.

  4. Postpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 19 April

    Robertson 1-5 Wakelin

Frame seven starts with a re-rack, following a bit of a stalemate around the pack of reds.

    We go again.

  5. Wu draws levelpublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 19 April

    Williams 3-3 Wu

Wu Yize is level. The 21-year-old knocks in a break of 72 and is looking far the stronger player at present.

He has barely missed a pot in the past three frames.

  6. Postpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 19 April

    Robertson 1-5 Wakelin

    John Parrott
    1991 world champion

Neil Robertson is definitely in a bit of trouble. It's one of those sessions for Neil, everything is running awkward and his opponent is mopping up very well.

  7. Wakelin halfway to victorypublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 19 April

    Robertson 1-5 Wakelin

Chris Wakelin has a lead of 17 points early in the sixth frame, but pushes the boat out with a long blue and misses.

Neil Robertson doesn't quite have the cue ball on a string - in fact there are several positional shots that land awkwardly - but he keeps on potting balls until he eventually breaks down on 32.

Wakelin then knocks in a sensational red to the middle - one of the shots of the day - which lays the foundation for him to take a 5-1 lead.

The world number 20 is guaranteed to be ahead at the end of the session.

  8. Wu takes another framepublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 19 April

    Williams 3-2 Wu

We have a match on our hands. Wu Yize looks to have all the momentum now as he wins the third frame with 138 unanswered points.

He makes a break of 90 and all of a sudden looks a completely different player.

  9. Wakelin three frames clearpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 19 April

    Robertson 1-4 Wakelin

In frame five, Chris Wakelin gets far enough ahead for Neil Robertson to need a snooker.

The Australian pots the penultimate red but leaves himself a difficult black into the middle pocket, which doesn't have enough weight on it to drop.

Wakelin now has a three-frame advantage and there's work for Robertson to do to pull this back.

  11. Century break helps Wu reduce his arrearspublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 19 April

    Williams 3-1 Wu

Mark Williams gets in first but when he misses a red to the middle Wu Yize comes to the table and compiles his 43rd century break of the season.

A superb 120 will help Wu feel a little better about himself at the mid-session interval.

  12. Williams in controlpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 19 April

    Williams 3-0 Wu

Mark Williams takes another frame. That one was a little bit scrappy and at present Wu Yize just can't get anything going.

  13. Wakelin leads at intervalpublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 19 April

A bit of a scrappy fourth frame goes the way of Chris Wakelin, who clears up to the blue to restore his two-frame lead.

The players have departed the arena and will have an break of about 15 minutes before they return for the final five frames of this opening session.

  14. Williams extends early leadpublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 19 April

    Williams 2-0 Wu

Another frame secured for Mark Williams and another half century.

Wu Yize had chances in that frame but the 21-year-old does not look like he has quite settled yet on only his second Crucible appearance.

  15. Robertson on the scoreboardpublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 19 April

    Robertson 1-2 Wakelin

Neil Robertson gets his first frame on the board, clearing the table with a break of 60 to reduce his deficit to one frame.

  16. Wakelin adds second framepublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 19 April

    Robertson 0-2 Wakelin

Neil Robertson gets a bit of bad fortune at the start of frame two - the Australian attempts to split the pack of reds while potting the blue, he powers into the target but a red flies into the corner pocket.

That shot opens the table up nicely for Chris Wakelin, who takes full advantage with a break of 70 to go 2-0 ahead.

  17. Williams makes solid startpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 19 April

Mark Williams has had well documented eyesight issues and is booked in for laser eye surgery in June.

He has tried playing with and without contact lenses and has gone without them today.

Not that you would know as he rolls in a long red to the right corner dead weight to get on the pink and goes on to make a break of 57.

Wu Yize comes back to the table needing snookers but the Welshman has enough guile to see out the opening frame.

  18. Wakelin starts with a centurypublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 19 April

    Robertson 0-1 Wakelin

A wonderful way for Chris Wakelin to start - he kicks off with a 108 break to take the opening frame against 2010 world champion Neil Robertson.

Wakelin was in the world's top 16 earlier this season and made his Masters debut in January, but dropped out of that elite group just before the cut-off point and therefore had to get through qualifying to secure his place at the Crucible.
