  1. Jones back within fourpublished at 21:51 British Summer Time 5 May

    Wilson 10-6 Jones

No. No dice. An attempted floated pot on the penultimate red is wide of the pocket.

But Jak Jones won't be too fussed - he's won five of the eight frames this evening to get right back into this final.

One more frame to go tonight - and it's a big one. 11-6 or 10-7?

The way he's playing, Jak Jones, you wouldn't put it past him.

Kyren Wilson had one shot in this frame, the break-off.

Can the Welshman register a World Championship final century?

On this day 10 years ago Mark Selby won his first World Championship title.

He came back from 10-5 down to beat Ronnie O'Sullivan 18-14. Can Jak Jones do the same here? He really does look a different player this evening.

A word on beaten semi-finalist Stuart Bingham, who lost to Jak Jones.

The ups and downs of Stuart Bingham have been extraordinary. Against Ronnie and Jack Lisowoski he played some phenomenal snooker. Against Jak in the semis he was both brilliant and his snooker was as falling apart. Hopefully he’s ok and we see more of him at his brilliant best when he’s unbeatable.

This afternoon Jak Jones was missing mid-distance shots by a mile - now they are going in the heart of the pocket.

His break is approaching 50 and the reds are hugely inviting for a frame-winning contribution.

You can see there is a physical change in Jak Jones - he's moving around the table like he's the one 10-5 in front.

That last frame has given him so much belief. If he can win this frame and the next and finish the evening just three behind at 10-7, you feel he's back in the game.

    Jak Jones' confidence is blossoming.

Amazing long red to begin frame 16 - and then a really positive shot to break into the pack not long after.

If Jak Jones can get out of this 10-7, what a miracle, what a result.

He's winning tonight's session, he's doing what he had to do. Even if he gets one of these last two frames, it's a result but both of them? He's back in it.

  9. Jones cuts gap to fivepublished at 21:40 British Summer Time 5 May

    Wilson 10-5 Jones

Heck of a red down the cushion with the rest from Jak Jones to leave Kyren Wilson requiring two snookers.

And Wilson's in a snooker himself behind the pink. He escapes but Jones bludgeons in a brilliant yellow to put the frame beyond doubt.

Jones misses the green but is 36 ahead with 25 on - Wilson has a think about coming back to the table but eventually nods to the referee in concession.

    A massive frame now.

Jak needs the two remaining reds.

What a pot, Jak Jones, take a bow.

With the cue ball safe near the yellow pocket he picks out a brilliant long red.

Jak Jones looks on his way to reducing his deficit once again - but he misses a black off the spot, and he cannot believe it.

Kyren Wilson though lets him off with a poor positional shot - with three reds to get on, he flicks one and lands on none!

  13. Biggest two-session marginspublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 5 May

The biggest margin after two sessions was back in 1989 when Steve Davis opened up a 13-3 lead over John Parrott, with 'The Nugget' going on to win 18-3 - the biggest Crucible win ever.

There have been a couple of 12-4 scorelines that I can recall (Stephen Hendry v Jimmy White in 1993 and John Higgins v Mark Selby in 2007) but I can't think of them overturning their deficit.

The one worth a mention really is that Selby was in exactly the same position that Jak Jones is in now, in 2017, and eventually triumphed 18-15 against Higgins.

Wilson cannot solve the puzzle. With a plethora of reds to aim for, he instead makes contact with the black.

Worse than that, he leaves an easy red on for Jak Jones.

  15. "Hit and hope!"published at 21:29 British Summer Time 5 May

    Wilson 10-4 Jones

"Help!" Kyren Wilson exclaims to the crowd after Jak Jones lands him right behind the green.

The reds are everywhere so no easy escape to leave the balls safe.

"Hit and hope!" comes a reply from the spectators. They might be right.

Kyren Wilson cannot believe that he's not on a red after potting a testing brown to middle so his visit ends with the Englishman just 24 points to the good.

I’m so chuffed for Kyren and impressed at his demeanour and attitude. I’ve seen him mature and grow over the last few seasons into a sublime Warrior, unwavering on the battlefield. Just the way he is holding himself this year makes me look at him with pride that he has made it to the final with world champion vibes emanating from him!

Jak Jones is in more trouble at the start of frame 15.

A risky red to middle does not go to plan and leaves Kyren Wilson with a mid-distance chance that he gobbles up.

You have to say, it's the first time this tournament that Jak has faced someone who is getting in first and winning the frame in one visit.

He's not faced this barrage of scoring and it looks like he can't cope with it. It's the first time he's been put under this intense pressure.

Getting to double figures is one little box ticked off.

And the way he's playing at the moment, he will be looking to press on.
